  1. Isnt that where the skidoo emails go to ? Haha jk! nothing there, I’m sure it’s just a busy time of year
  2. How long did it take for email confirmation to come through? I was told 48hrs, but I’m going on almost a week now.
  3. I do remember checking in that day at the front desk with the wife and you had just walked in. Funny how I can remember years back on certain things, but can’t remember what the wife asked of me yesterday…or even an hour ago lol. she likes the edge water, gotta get back there next year. I also won’t forget the next morning I was swapping carbides from my sled to hers in like -35. I can’t remember exactly how cold it was, but I know our room was cold. It was definitely crispy outside.
  4. I know, the little one has being giving us the runaround…quite the handful lately. Hasn’t been sleeping very well, finally got that figured out though. And we’ve been getting an above average (I think) winter in the south, so been fairly busy with snow removal this year also. Actually can’t believe how much snow we’ve got this year. If only we didn’t get that rain… Always good to chat with you OC’rs!
  5. Seems like these 650s are the cats a**! I’m actually going to be riding out of Parry Sound tomorrow morning, ardbeg, dunchurch, magnetewan, sprucedale and back. Likely my last ride…as of right now lol. Is it Fall yet lol?
  6. I’ve heard nothing but good things about the 650 engine and the matryx chassis. I’m really hoping she loves it and just wants to ride! It was always a bit of a struggle getting her out on the Yamaha viper. Love the viper/cat chassis and Yamaha engine, but even I am starting to look for something a bit lighter, and I think Polaris is the way to go. I may end up on an 850 though lol
  7. Thanks! Never spring ordered before so kind of exciting, even though it’s for the wife lol
  8. Rickwards was allotted 62 sleds total. 30 of which are spring order, the rest are pre-built. That’s what I was just told. Only 1 SP 137”, my names on it!
  9. I just got off the phone with the lady at Rickwards. She rides a 650 VR1 and also is very happy with it, says her husband doesn’t have to listen to her complain anymore! Lol My wife has been out of sledding for a couple seasons because we’ve got a 1yr old now, but she wants back into it for next season, just doesn’t want the weight of the viper. so I think this 650 might be a good choice for her. Options are nothing special, basic package but that’s all she needs I think. As mentioned in my previous post, I will be riding it from time to time. As much as I love my viper, I’m kinda hoping I love the Polaris more!
  10. I’m considering the 650 SP 137”. I heard the 650’s are great, and the wife shouldn’t have any problems with the weight of the sled compared to her previous Yamaha viper. Decent price I think $14,999+++++ I will also use this sled from time to time, and if it’s any good I may consider selling my viper and getting one myself. Anyone here have a 650 matrix? Are they good trail sleds?
  11. Nothing new for me this year. Was considering another viper but it doesn’t come with power steering. 10,000kms on my 18’ and not a single problem yet.
  12. So here is the 7’x17’ Lightning and here is the Legend
  13. Thanks for the reply. My enclosed was a 7’x12’ with 2’ V nose and I hated backing in the second sled, even after doing it for 4 yrs it was still a PITA. The only reason I’m considering another 7’W enclosed is because I would be able to just drive them both out. Is your enclosed a lightning? I had a hybrid 8.5W about 5-6yrs ago and I remember it didn’t tow as nice as the 7’W enclosed.
  14. Ok, another trailer thread. Just sold my steel enclosed trailer yesterday. Used it for 4yrs, but it started to gather a lot of rust LOL. I’ll be getting an aluminum trailer forsure and have been looking at a hybrid legend 8.5x13’ or a Lightning 7x17’ enclosed drive in/out. Not sure what one to buy. Hybrid is $6800+tax and comes with a great warranty and caliber floor products. The Lightning 7x17’ enclosed V nose is $7155+tax, 1yr warranty which isn’t the best. Narrower trailer, interior height is much nicer and you can drive out instead of reversing. Have any of you guys purchased from bluewater? Any experience with lightning or legend trailers? I’ll try to post some specs shortly. Thanks for any help guys.
  15. Fat lady sure is singin!
  16. Normally I make at least a few trips north every season, but felt with Covid and all the snow in the south...why bother? Next season we likely won’t get the amount of snow we did get in the south, and that will leave us with no choice but to travel north. seems like every 7-8yrs we get a really good winter here at home. Last time we had a good winter like this was 2013/14, and before that was 2008 which I think was the most snow we’ve ever had down here...that I’ve seen anyways.
  17. She’s going to start singing around noon tomorrow LOL maybe sneak in a quick morning ride???
  18. I know when you zoom in close on the map, you can see the roads and if the trail is straight it’s usually a road run. I try to plan my routes around any & all road runs but it seems like they’re everywhere in the south more than ever.
  19. This was the second sign that was put up. I forget what the first one said, but it was homemade. I was surprised to see this one the last time I went through. Pretty sad when the landowner has to spend his own money to try and get the point across... Hopefully this trail is there next year.
  20. Yep most definitely! As much as I love riding up north, I had to take advantage of the south this year. Hopefully things are more stable next season and we can travel again.
  21. Yeah the spring wire will protrude forsure. It’s going to wear down with the carbide tip anyways. Wear it all down and just make sure the flat spot is still there and you should be able flip it no problem. You would just need to keep a close eye on them so you don’t wear them down even further.
  22. Great day out there today. Only 261kms but we decided to start around 10am in hopes the trails would have seen some traffic and be a bit loose. Left teviotdale at 10am, went up through walkerton, chesley and then across to markdale. Walkerton & chesley were on the thin side in places and very hard. Scratchers down. Had lunch at Tim’s. Then took the B111 down through mount forest and back to the truck. Markdale back to the truck was incredible! Trails were near perfect and were just starting to drift in with the high winds. It was a very good day! 3588kms for the season. I decided not to ride on the weekends this season except for one Saturday and it was a rougher ride forsure. Midweek riding I’ve decided will be the only time to ride from now on. No more weekends for me. If that was it for the season, I’m pretty happy and can’t complain one bit. Best season I think I’ve ever had. Only trailered 4x, the rest of the time I was able to leave from home. Great season, great job by all clubs, volunteers and landowners! Time to decide on a snow check! sled was still filthy from Wednesday’s ride.
  23. Could probably drill & tap the other side as well as being flipped top to bottom
