  1. The shiny plastic or metal caps that you see on the rims in the center should have a center cap that pops off without removing the wheels, behind that cap is the grease fitting for the axle bearings, there may or may not be a rubber cap over the grease zerk as well. On my trailer, a center piece of the outer cap pops off and behind that is the grease zerk, there is no rubber cap over the grease zerk, but on my other travel trailer, there is a rubber cap.....but they each have totally different systems used to grease the bearings.
  2. Maybe they do than, honestly it usually seems pretty quick around here when I have passed through their RIDE program on the odd occasion......I just remember the usual good evening, any alcohol tonight and off I go. I tend to agree with you, in light of the current atmosphere, I think I may find myself to be aggravated now due to what is going on and how I have strong feelings against it, that might make me be not as pleasant as I may normally be.....
  3. Should be another removable cap in the center of that cap, no? I know my trailer has them for just that, greasing the bearings.
  4. So seems to be either $85 or $200, plus the surcharge of course......I am not seeing an infraction for trespassing or driving on a closed trail though, I am sure it is there, just not seeing it. Even a whole section on groomer and drags infractions - go figure
  5. Furthermore, expect some people to exaggerate things, especially those that might be in favour of the asinine decision that has been made for this region. Not suggesting that is the case here, but you know it will be happening.
  6. It was a RIDE check, so they can pull you over as per the MADD program. Asking you about your plans, destination, etc....is not part of the RIDE check protocol though......have you been drinking is the extent of it while they hover into or near your window looking or smelling for the tell tale signs to gig further.
  7. Makes sense and why these cottage owners would take their side by sides along the trail to their cottages.
  8. Okay, so trespass is actually $180.00 and not $65.00......which would be better. The covid fine could be interesting though and I can see it being fought in court.
  9. So that means the fine would in fact be $65 for trespassing on closed OFSC trails vs $880 as posted. Perhaps misunderstanding or a stretch to deter people from doing it as $65 is hardly a deterrent.
  10. So there is provisions for that, with some rules or discretion in place. The cottage access discussion came up years ago when a few cottage owners on an OFSC trail wanted to go to their cottage in the winter on a road that was not maintained but a trail instead and I recall they were allowed with no pass plus they also used there side by side to gain winter access.
  11. I wonder why the ticket would be $880.00.....I thought trespassing on OFSC trails was only a measly $65.00. And if I am not mistaken, you can also use an OFSC trail to get to your cottage on or off the trail or to the lake for ice fishing purposes without a pass or trespassing fine......at least that is how I always understood it to be explained to me. Regardless, hopefully the protests are productive ones with level heads.
  12. LOL....ya, like last year....back in the day kiddo's when masks and social distancing were not a concern.
  13. Good, just what is needed seeing as driving to far is not an option to ride and the now Red trails are not helping either
  14. I find the DOO muffs, or in my case the Kimpex ones way better than your traditional ones......not awkward in the way, no issues if you decide to stand or sit or putting your hand back in them
  15. Purchased trailers from Reinhart, Miska and Edge......all have been good experiences, no complaints. I almost bought a trailer from Jensen & Northport as well, but never happened....but good to deal with.
  16. I tossed around the idea for a few years to get a pair of the DOO muffs & used thinner gloves vs. bulky ones, ended up buying a pair of the Kimpex muffs that are almost the same as the DOO's last year plus a pair of cheaper thin work gloves from MWW - worked great last & hands were never cold, but the cheap gloves did not last, so since the set up works great, bought a better pair of gloves this year. You are correct, works way better and I usually need to turn off my heat and the muffs are like little over that hold the heat inside of them!
  17. LOL....as frustrating as this is for me to have & watch the damage being done, I am also taking it with a grain of salt and a fair amount of sarcasm to lighten it up. I am actually glass half full & have some hope for normalcy in the not so distant future.
  18. New riding gloves arrived today, hope they work well and last!
  19. Not so sure about that, could you imagine the back lash seeing pictures of people having fun, riding sleds & standing way to close together without there full PPE on..... It is a good thing thee is a picture of the 2020 trail pass in those photo's.... Definitely could use some angels about now though!
  20. Missed your post with same quote.....very strange things happening on the site lately, the last page with more comments was not there until I posted my comments......
  21. I am not familiar with the landscape in that region (private gated land, crown, etc).....but this is what I just looked up on the OFSC site: The OFSC has received permission from the NBPSDHU to proceed with limited grooming operations to facilitate OPP trail monitoring and other EMS support, and so that when trails in the affected districts re-open they are ready to ride. Groomers on trails do not mean trails are open. So there will be some upkeep, etc.....but as you stated, it will be a difficult one. I just cannot see locals, or even non local not jumping on the trails to ride, get to a lake, some off trail locations / hydro lines, logging roads, etc......unless there is a barricade stopping that, and even than, people find ways around them. I think most will agree, a very poor choice that once again will have adverse affects......but some will sway the other way too of course....
  22. I thought the trails will continue to be maintained for local enforcement to do there thing and keep things in check vs. get out of control making reopening at a possible future easier......in which case, you know the trails will be used, I am sure of it.
  23. I love my aftermarket can..... I have said it before, but I think the best way to voice is letting your MPP know, either an email or phone call. Will it matter - no idea. But I did at least hear from mine stating the following: I have shared your email with Caroline and have added you to a Campaign of other constituents with the same concerns. Caroline shares this information with her colleagues at Queens park, while advocating for the needs and concerns of her constituents. So I suppose it is good.....of course I asked again if there is internal fear of voicing these concerns like Mr Baber did for fear of being kicked out......
  24. x2....the debate is very good, but I get the feeling that some think it takes away from this forum, but on the contrary, that is what these platforms are for, share info and discuss the thoughts of others with a common interest, and that is snowmobiling!
