  1. Bearcat, thanks for the additional info. So if I want to buy a permit for my son for Christmas, I will need to ensure he has a profile in the system to link the voucher to? What if I don’t have a profile in the system? Will I need to create one even if I might not be sledder? Thanks
  2. Yes, along with the President, 1st VP, 2nd VP.
  3. 02, I have watched the video of her presentation at AGM and would agree with your comment. But at the same time when this idea was first broached the intent was for people that 1) wanted to give a permit as gift or 2) had spring ordered a sled and could not get the VIN before the lapse of the early bird pricing, or 3) otherwise did not have the sled details, could buy their permit early and effectively take delivery at a later date. So the OFSC comment would appear to meet the original intent. What we don’t know are the details around the process and/or any requirements or restrictions. The devil will be in the detail on this.
  4. This was just posted on the OFSC Facebook page .... In addition to the long-term funding, Minister Mulroney announced that online driver training would be available in October and that Ontarians would soon be able to purchase gifts cards and redeem them for a permit, locking in the permit price at the time of gift card purchase. still need to see the nitty gritty on this.
  5. Was not able to attend the AGM this year, so I am wondering if anybody has seen, or knows, what the details around this program are? I know it’s going to solve a lot of problems with getting clean sled data. There should be no need to enter incorrect sled data just to take advantage of early bird pricing anymore. Or trying to buy a permit as a gift when you don’t know the sled details. Just hoping it doesn’t open a different can of worms.
  6. First, thank you for the use of your land. I think the majority of sledders appreciate your generosity and show the respect that is so deserved. Second, I think your views as a both a volunteer and a landowner are widely held. I know they are widely held in my club. We just spent over $500 to put in 2 gates for a landowner to try and keep atvs out his fields, just to protect the sled trail. It’s $500 that could have been better spent on actual trail/grooming improvements. In the new LUP there is the ability to add additional clauses. We are routinely adding the following, “ The club agrees that the permissions granted to it under this agreement can not be assigned to any other user group without the express written consent of the landowner”. It’s seems to be giving landowners some comfort that other groups can not piggy back on the club LUP..
  7. My SRViper 137 with the medium windshield fits no problem in my 10ft Toy Carrier. Also had my old Venture 700 2 Up 141 track in there too. It was tight but it fit. My trailer also came with 2 moulded bump outs on the rear cover to accommodate sleds with an extended tunnel. I have seen a few Toy Carriers in my travels but never one with the bump outs. I will see if I have pictures to post.
  8. If the local clubs are going to get involved in this opportunity, I would suggest they contact the BEAST and West Carleton clubs. Both these clubs have been involved with the development of the Ottawa Valley Rail Trail from Smith Falls to Mattawa. The clubs were successful in maintaining motorized use despite significant opposition from a very vocal non-motorized contingent. They worked closely with a number of municipalities to over come significant obstacles. Securing long term access to these corridors is going to be critical to maintaining connectivity between regions. hope this works out.
  9. I hear both units sold into the USA.
  10. I have an 07 Phazer. There was a shim kit for the primary and a revised belt that helped the situation but did not cure it. Idle speed and chain tension are also important for shifting. Check out Totallyamaha.com in the Phazer forum for additional help. The link below is for a list of updates for the Phazer. https://ty4stroke.com/threads/updates-to-07s.107506/
