On My AXYS
Hey Panther340, you seem to be the only guy from Echo Bay. We are heading your way soon. Do you know anybody who has been on this run? It looks like it is only open east of HWY 17. Are people running the Bay from town to get there? What are the conditions on the trail D107 Trail north east of town? I also see there is a closed section towards Bruce Mines. Have you been out that way? The snow must be pretty sparse.
Panther340
I can only speak for the Echo Bay area................ my fields have barely 4 inches of snow, my south facing slopes have little to no snow. Bruce Mines has had very similar weather , I hear Elliot Lake has had a bit more snow compared to us over the winter. I am using my ATV on my bush trails on my property. The Cat is parked. On My AXYS
Thanks for the update It appears there is a little more snow in the forcast over the next few days. I memory serves, this is the third year in a row there has been very little snow in your area. Is this the new normal? Maybe Echo Bay and St. Joe's will become the new destination for snow birds. [the following is a dream sequense intended to be humorous] Just think of what could happen to property values, Beach front on Lake George could rival Myrtle Beach The Bar River will be simply providing water for the hazards on all the golf courses on Lake George Road Golf couse subdivisions from Neebish to Watson Road. Us poor snomobilers will be relegated to north of Wawa. Anyway thanks for the upate
On My AXYS
If we ride from Bruce Mines to Abrey falls, is there gas in Aubery? if we head to Wharencliffe, is there gas? is Tunnel Lake still open for gas? It looks like the trail up there is closed right now Anybody know?
Dan-Senior
We were in Aubrey Falls yesterday (Sunday). Yes, there's gas and the restaurant was open as well. We chatted with 2 riders who came in from Echo Bay and said 'no-problems' with the trails. Snow is shy in the Echo Bay area according to them. Also chatted with 4 riders from Elliot Lake and they said trails were good. We went north on the "F" towards Chapleau, purposely to clear out logs and major obstacles on the trail. We put in about 35 miles going north, then looped west to the Aubinodong for a ride back south to the Ranger Lake road. There's a nasty swamp about 20 miles up from Aubrey Falls, with 2 mud crossings in that one swamp.
