Canuck
Keep up the fight, The town has infrastructure and a qualified workforce. Something does not seem 'right' with the process.
Wildman
So is it possible that rights to the wood around Dubreuilville could be sold to someone else, or is it that the tree huggers have manipulated the government enough that they r no longer selling the rights to these parcels of land. Either way, it is crap. I thought with the mandatory reforestation after the logging process was complete, these problems would b a thing of the past. Wildbill
I have been told that the government is selling timber rights to asian interests. That the wood is being shipped back in containers that thier crap came here in.

It seems that special interest groups are developing a stranglehold on the north. Have a fishing camp (Lake!) that you don't want to share with anyone? Invite a government rep or two, become friends, and keep it to yourself forever (what we call 'lobbying' down here in Toronto). Want to make logging so difficult that towns close? Easy. Cut off the wood supply. Who will benefit? By the time the dust settles, who will remember? The roads will be closed and, soon, so will the snowmobile trails. The north sits atop Ontario like a crown. Unfortunately, it's becoming 'owned', jewel by jewel.
