I'd call the club that grooms the trails you are interested in but Its most likely lack of snow. You need extra in that type of area because of all the rocks etc.  I was up on the C trail north of Key River last weekend. They did a great job of grooming but with the mid week thaw and no real fresh stuff after it still wasn't great and those trails are green

If you want good conditions you have to go north of suds.

From Muskoka Snow Trails F/B page at 5:30PM yesterday:

Hi Everyone, Our grooming operations had to halt today due to warm conditions and not enough material on the trails to work with. Both operators agreed our drag was uncovering too many rocks and we didn't want to do any more harm to the trail system. We need some snow and cold temperatures. We also have a section that is not easily passable in the Mactier area as you cross the rail road tracks heading into the main swamp. Warm temperatures have opened up the ditch and there is not enough snow to fill over the culvert at the present time.
