Wayne B
I need to pick up some ski-doo parts this Friday that had been backordered but have now arrived. There is also a quick factory reprogramming recall they need to perform on the speedo of my 900ace Enduro. It is about an 80 km ride by snowmobile from my home near Bonfield to Giesler Marine on Elm Street in Powassan..... which seems like it would be a fun ride. Looking at the OFSC interactive trail guide it seems the closest you can get to the town of Powassan is taking the D Trunk trail to the SSR700 which essentially ends at the Kudos Cantina Restaurant at the intersection of Chiswick & Main. This is about 1.5 km from the dealership, which also shows up on the interactive trail guide if you click on dealerships under services. If anyone here is familiar with the Powassan area, would you happen to know if it is possible to get over to Giesler by trail from the end of the SSR700 or if Main Street has enough snow pack that you could ride the road without doing damage to carbides? I could have sworn when I was last in Powassan there were OFSC trail signs along some of the side streets in town (like Edward Street) but the OFSC trail map shows no trails going through Powassan....... almost like it's no longer a snowmobile friendly town. If I could, I'd much prefer to ride over to Powassan by sled than to trailer the machine over but I'd like to make sure I can actually make it to the dealership if I take the sled. Would hate to ride all that way only to get stranded less than 2km from where I need to be. Thanks in advance!
snowchopper
You use to be able come in the 700 trail and cross the road at the old Kudos then ride up the ditch beside highway 11 which was groomed into Geislers.I am not sure if that is still groomed. You might want to call Geislers and ask if you can still do this.
Wayne B
Thanks for the reply and the info snowchopper. I will call them and see if you can still ride that ditch.
