Looking for Accommodations in Sault St. Marie

wow should have proofed my topic before posting it. We're looking for accommodations in Sault St. Marie.

Wanting to do a saddle bag tour up in the Sault (Ontario) arriving this Sunday and coming back the following Saturday. we usually leave for our trip on the Monday and get back to the Motel either the Thursday or Friday and then leave Saturday to head home. When we called the Comfort Inn (we had stayed there before) we were told we can no longer leave our tow vehicles there for the week and something about a new school that was built that cut off access to the trail by the Water Tower Inn. Does anyone have any suggestions as to were we can stay and have access to the trail and be able to leave our tow vehicles for the 5 days? any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You can call Blueberry Motel and campground which is north on Hwy 17 near Goulais River and you are just across from the closest gas to Searchmont.  It is 35 miles to Searchmont and you are connected to the trail.  We usually stay there.  The Zone is a bar / restaurant at the gas station and hardware store.

You could ride from the Ambassador Hotel because they redirected the trail this year, but you will drive an extra 10 minutes north down the bill hill into Blueberry Flats to go to the best place to leave your trailer and truck.

Call Blueberry Hill Motel @  (705) 649-5631  or look at  www.onblueberryhill.com

You could also just drive out to Searchmont and park at the Driftwood valley Lodge?  Ends all gas issues!

Thanks AC + YA.

Your Driftwood recommendation may have solved an issue Akron and I are having re: lodging in SSM and fuel the next day as we head north to Halfway Haven.

Fixed it for you.

There is trail access to the Ambassador Motel (we left our truck & trailer there). Also, the Glenview Cottages is trail accessible.

No gas in Searchmont.

Call Driftwood and see if Carl can give you some.
