New Hamburg, St. Clements & Wellesley trails

Most road closings do not have closed signs, but a few do. OFSC site shows red. Lots of tracks on trails and gates that are closed when trails are closed are open. Some trails groomed.

So what's the deal, they open or closed?? Neighbouring trails are open with same or less snow coverage.

They are closed for now. Not all road crossings have signs. Snow coverage is very thin.

The signs have been flipped around the Baden/New Hamburg area at most of the road crossings to closed. Gates generally stay open as they tend to get stuck in the snow if there are drifts and it is too much work to have to drag them open when more snow comes. The locks often freeze up making it difficult for the groomer operators to open them when it is time to groom. Not all clubs post "trail closed" signs when they close their trails. It is good practise but not mandatory. The trails are closed for a reason. Please remember our first priority is to protect the property of our landowners. If the snow is too thin or non-existant the sleds just rip up the ground and leave an eyesore for the landowner to look at all summer. This does not make them happy. Please stay off closed trails.
