  1. Good to see the government supporting tourism initiatives in the north - - especially for snowmobiling. Congratulations to those who worked hard to make this happen.
  2. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10157498255376670&id=504956669&ģsfnsn=mo Tourism funds to support snowmobile trail, francophone initiatives Destination Northern Ontario leading new tourism project. Destination Northern Ontario is getting support to develop a new snowmobile trail and digital francophone tourism initiatives. Federal funds totalling $230,000 from the Canadian Experiences Fund (CEF) are supporting the two projects. Of that, $160,000 will be used to develop a world-class snowmobile trail along Highway 11 north between Hearst and Temiskaming Shores, including the City of Timmins. The remaining $70,000 will support the development of a series of interactive itineraries for smartphone and tablet users that highlight the region’s francophone culture and experiential tourism opportunities. “I am grateful to the Government of Canada for this support, through FedNor, that will help us develop and grow the region’s francophone tourism offerings with the goal of attracting culture-seeking visitors, French-speaking tourists and immigrants to the North,” said David MacLachlan, executive director of Destination Northern Ontario, in an Aug. 29 news release. “And by developing a premier snowmobile region, we aim to make Northeastern Ontario the ultimate snowmobile destination that builds on our strengths: long, cold winters with an abundance of snow.” Destination Northern Ontario – formerly known as Tourism Northern Ontario – is the largest of 13 Regional Tourism Organizations (RTOs) funded by the Ontario Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport. The organization leads the development of tourism programming across the North.
  3. Thank you, Nunz and Karen! I enjoyed the party until I had to go home for my nap. Great seeing you guys along with your friends and family, including Slow Touring Guy, Mr. Secretary, iREVerent, Mr and Ms IQ Turbo, The Dutchman, Mr and Ms White Dragon, Mr and Ms Brappman, Mr and Ms Soupkids. (Not sure who else appeared after I left.) Best part was watching Nunz and friends gnawing the front off the Polaris cake.
  4. Good to hear from ewe, STG. We miss your kidding.
  5. Curious as to who we might run into at the OFSC Annual General Meeting in Mississauga, on Friday and Saturday Septenber 20th and 21st. I'll be attending again from Snowcrest Riders, along with our new club president Nunz.
  6. Found what I was looking for last night, and picked it up today. 2017 Grand Touring 1200 SE with 841 kms. I guess I'll leave the beastly cat in storage until I figure out what to do with it. I put a few hundred kms on it last winter.
  7. There's nothing wrong with it, except it lacks rmotion and an air controlled suspension.
  8. I'm looking for a low mileage 2016 - 2018 four stroke Renegade Enduro, or possibly a Grand Touring SE. My 2017 1200 Enduro is an ideal sled for me, so I'd like to get another one with low mileage - - or something similar - - to replace my 2014 ZR 9000. I'd consider a 1200 or 900 Enduro, or perhaps a 1200 or 900 Grand Touring SE. If I can't find what I'm looking for, I might have to look into a 2019 or 2020 Gen 4 model.
  9. Any suggestions for another builder of a 2990 lb gvwr dumper?
  10. I'm considering buying a light duty manual dump trailer, for transporting construction debris, leaves, topsoil, etc. Towable with an SUV. Maybe use the trailer a dozen times a year. Any opinions on something like this.....which could also possibly be used to haul a single sled upon occasion.... $3,500 Please view this ad: 5x10 Manual Dump Trailer, https://www.kijiji.ca/v-atv-parts-trailer-accessories/ontario/5x10-manual-dump-trailer/c5773528?utm_source=com.google.android.apps.docs&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=socialbuttons&utm_content=app_android
  11. First ride: November 15th Location: tbd
  12. At the first meeting of the new Snowcrest board, the executive group was elected: President Nunzio Iacobellis, Vice President Paul McNichol, Treasurer Henry Vandevalk, Secretary Rod Cronin, and Past President Kelly Hart. Thank you to these volunteers, and to Bill Horosko for being a club executive for the past several years.
  13. I did some research in 2016 and ended up buying some "mydlink" stuff on Amazon.ca in 2016 and 2018. I wanted something affordable, quick, and easy for the front office and part of a warehouse at my moving and storage business. (See images of my purchases and a screen capture from one of the cameras.) Not high end, but I've been satisfied with the reasonable cost and ease of use. Wireless connection between cameras and recorder. Has sound and video. (The second camera has been more stable than the first. I have to reset the first camera every couple of weeks by unplugging it for a few seconds.) I had an employee set up the cameras, recorder, and storage device, and connect to the internet. I then downloaded an app for my Android phone, and can view the two cameras in real time on my phone, from anywhere with an internet connection. Beyond the purchase of the initial hardware, there have been no ongoing subscription fees. I also purchased some more extensive and expensive systems from a security consultant. They are a little better quality, but harder to set up and use. For ease of set up and use, I would recommend the mydlink stuff.
  14. Thank you, slomo. I'll put a man on it!
  15. I believe the Bullitt's floor channel is thinner than Triton's, and Superclamp's little hook thingy wouldn't fit. I paid Action Trailer a few bucks to install 8 D rings in the floor, carefully positioned so I can be outside the trailer - - to strap down the front of one sled via the front access door, and the front of the second sled via the side door.
  16. Nunz: I might have something you can buy. I bought a superclamp plus one or two extra things (something to hold the rear of sled maybe?), but ended up reselling my Triton before using the superclamp stuff. Slomo: the Superclamp stuff doesn't seem to fit in the tracking of my Bullitt.
  17. The primary advantage of the Bullitt over the TC167, is the much reduced wind resistance. Otherwise, pretty hard to match Triton quality.
