  1. Can you tell me from where to where or point to point? I imagine GB is not an ideal body of water to be on in the winter based on what I have read in the past, personally never rode on it other than around Collingwood many years ago, and I remember it was very sketchy back than.
  2. Not true, land lease is a set amount across the board, not like taxes......which is set until 2032 I believe, then see what happens with the new lease amount. However, they implemented a tax as well a couple years ago that is based on building value.....tax you will pay anywhere and the land lease works out to be about what we pay a year to own a trailer and camp, so a wash. Cottage ownership in this area is cheaper based on that of course seeing as you do not own the property, just the building..... Honestly, not something that I would have ever considered, but......my parents bought it a little while ago as they just love the area, camped at Killbear literally our entire life and one day they tell us they bought a cottage and are stopping camping, surprised us all. Mom passed in 2019 and now my dad has maybe a month or two to live (hopefully longer and the Dr's are wrong), so the cottage will either need to be sold or one of us takes it and my sisters would love to see one of us still own it......thinking that might be me/us seeing as we want to buy one, but market is nuts, so we see what happens. This one does not check a few of our boxes for a cottage, so thinking we get into it due to the circumstances and see where it takes us in the future based on the market, us, the kids, etc.... Hence why I am asking the question.....personally not a big fan of the PS area at all for sledding and this location is not ideal for that, but will be a great summer cottage at least for now. There are rumours of the island looking to add a trail network on the island, but I just heard that the other day from one of the neighbours.
  3. Is there anyone on here that either has a cottage or family member that does have one on or near Parry Island? I am wondering if there is access in the winter by sled to the island, what is it like, any local trails, etc.... I do not think there are OFSC trails or maybe even local trails that goes to the island, but maybe I am wrong. I do see an ATV trail that seems to stop at the swing bridge though. Also wondering what Georgian Bay is like in the winter, in and around these parts.
  4. Blue skies just south of parry sound!
  5. He was referring to the Poo and not wanting to get off........
  6. I might also need to borrow one of those six too..........
  7. Selling mine privately earlier this year vs. trade in or possibly selling this coming year made too much cents not too.....like most, things were selling easily and for way more than I would have expected. Given how things might turn out, resale sleds might even be fetching more in the coming year! I will have to deal with possibly no sled to start the 2021/22 season......but I am optimistic that that will not happen and if it does, c'est la vie!
  8. Do you or anyone else happen to know the numbers of units sold for Sea-Doo's vs Ski-Doo's? Hoping this is accurate and stands to be true.....and deliveries are not delayed. I tend to think the issues you hear are exaggerated but given what is going around, if there were delays, I cannot see how anyone would be overly surprised. At least you still have your 2021....I think.....
  9. It is funny how you see so many of those old school rough terrain fork truck that have a hole burned through one fork with a oxy/acetylene torch that were used to move things around in the yard or site.......not so much see that anymore.
  10. I know, or I think you mentioned, that you are already riding at a friends place on I assume their bikes, but there is a place up towards Peterborough that rent bikes and provide a multiday staycation.....I think they ride in the Ganny, but I am not 100% certain of that.
  11. I recall reading the same post over there as well.....just tried to locate it quickly, but no luck.
  12. Go buy some wood and get back to us, wood comes at a hefty premium these days......
  13. Riding while snowing has it challenges too, never understood those that preferred to avoid it, but different strokes for different folks.
  14. Love / hate for the snow......could do without the storm until arrived at destination, trailer is parked and ready to ride.....than snow like crazy !
  15. At least they look to be used vehicles vs. brand new!
  16. That’s great to get one! I’m guessing you aren’t or weren’t a golfer than as most wouldn’t stop after a HIO. However commenting on an activity and its protocols in place given you didn’t partake, really isn’t necessary given the comment you replied to.... sounds like something one of those “characters “ would do And FTR, courses last year had no issues enforcing their rules, even a private course.....I’d even go as far to say the more ritzier club were more stern than the lesser one.
  17. Played plenty of rounds last summer / fall. All drinks or food after round was outside, very limited access to indoors. And it’s the cart lady or ladies on the course or halfway house where the money is made on bevies. Do you or did you play golf last year?
  18. The true North strong and free.......what happened (not need to answer that). When you think about how Canada has been a country that has been so accepting of many people & cultures, some have embraced while others not so much......that I feel is a huge part now as to why we are continuing down this downward spiral surrounding this whole situation in a very sharp way. And to say I kept on track with the thread subject - no way the Toronto show happens. Sept will see a spike in numbers again that will bring more lock downs in Oct through the winter months. Peterborough might have a chance.
  19. That is the only time we had issues, but like you said, give the logging trucks their space. It must have a been quick thaw and freeze the day before or maybe some freezing rain, it was crazy how fast we went sideways, zero time to react, even the guy behind us saw it all happen and he could not believe it......seeing the cruiser up side down and the officer fall down made us both feel better. After we went back for a another vehicle and carried on again, zero issues.
  20. One of our trips through we were lucky enough to encounter that.....our truck into a rock wall and OPP coming out to do his report flipped his truck onto the roof on his way to us, then when another OPP finally made it to us, fell flat on his a$$ when he stepped out of his vehicle. That road trip was a great one!
  21. LOL....modern day road updates on f/book, that is funny, yet very useful. I am pretty sure when we frequented that road, f/plant was not around or at least neither of us that were driving were a member.
  22. revrnd seems to be a pretty good fabricator, he might be able to whip you up a custom hitch for that fancy new vehicle of yours....
  23. Agreed, although I do not know if Sultan falls into the same category as the other highways.....more of a logging road that is used as a short cut by locals, Hydro, Bell and of course loggers. Not sure if the road has changed in the last decade or two, but I know it used to be a very rough road.
  24. Have taken 144, across sultan rd over to wawa many times, definitely need to be on your toes!
