So how is that essential and how would you expect to be allowed to cross the border when basically anyone else can fill the void that one can basically bail from? So let's pretend to have an actual real project, say several million in equipment infrastructure and specialized intellectual property and you are half way through procurement and deliverables. There isn't anyone else you can send to commission this project and so it requires on-site support. What do you do in the middle of Covid? Fyi, this is my world.

People wearing masks think that will save them from getting covid and then go about business as usual, side to side no distancing. Nothing could be further from the truth. Saw a video of a packed plane a few weeks ago, insane.

When I made my statement of sending the entire public sector home without pay, don't think for a second I don't have skin in the game, my wife is a high school principal, and I stand by that statement. What we are seeing now is a shift in perception of what is essential/non essential. Who would have thought a year ago the good people bagging our groceries were so vital to our overall food supply chain? We would be lost today without them. Thankful for the work they do despite the risks they face everyday, GOD bless. Anyone and everyone who is providing for their family is essential in my book and should be working.

Save for the health workers, lay off the entire public sector without pay and this nonsense and any justification ends. edit: My dad when he was still alive (a few years ago) spent several days in the hallway of Mississauga hospital. It was more the norm than the exception, so the thought that our hospitals are overloaded today is rather comical.

Schneider also has a very large process side implementing projects with many integrated components from multiple vendors, these take years to implement and require critical staff to be onsite during stages. Not many of those projects going to Canada, but they require specialized talent to travel to locations or risk serious delays.
