  1. Saw a moose around '06 along TOP A east of Mattice. In '01 saw 1 more or less in someone's backyard in Coniston LOL
  2. Cool! In all my years of riding up north I've only seen them in '18 & '20. Brother saw mother & some little ones west of Connaught around '03.
  3. Seems to be no shortage of them up there this winter. Seen some other videos & pics on Faceplant & CTV Sudbury too.
  4. @irREVerent I think we picked the only week that the sun didn't shine up there. Nice pics!
  5. The 'hundreds of kilometers' might be the total trip. Not sure how far the turnoff if from either Wawa or the Soo.
  6. Isn't that how Halfway Haven gets their fuel or does a small tanker come in?
  7. That's what is was when we filled up too. Regular was $1.33/L
  8. I've noticed a small business sign on TOP A (I think @ the L173) pointing south, so it would be in Hallebourg. Can anyone verify what the business is?
  9. Right on! Post a report on that. I hadn't heard of anyone staying @ Agich's. Too bad the hotel shut down. Looked pretty bleak when I was thru there a few summers ago...
  10. Getting that work done now, 13,500 klicks on mine.
  11. Just checked the maps & L159 goes right by it.
  12. A good idea. We used to take the 150 ml gasoline antifreeze containers w/ iso in them (tape around the cap). Never had an issue w/ leakage. If you don't run premium thru the season, you could fill your almost empty tank w/ it in Cochrane & by the time you got to SRF you'd be OK for that part of your summarizing. During our riding @irREVerent put premium in for his last 2 fills. I did my last fill up there & my last down here (w/ Sta-bil).
  13. Looks familiar... @Techdenis007 Is there a location Ritchie? I dont recall seeing anything that would be called a hamlet or settlement along the trail.
  14. I guess the season isn't over in D3 Shows up as a big yellow blob before you zoom in.
  15. Oh no that sucks! How many klicks on the track?
  16. A heads up for anyone passing thru there in the off-season. I think it would've been a bit of a walk from E108. https://www.intelligencer.ca/news/local-news/tweedsmuir-hotel-destroyed-by-fire
  17. Not sure about Mattice, but lots of space behind the Shell in Hearst. Ask if you can & fuel up there. I think gas (regular) was only a cent more in Hearst than in Kap'.
  18. Sounds like a good ride to end the season. Have to work it into a future trip as it's been a few years up there.
  19. Like they say, "Be careful what you wish for". Was it worse than hordes of atom hockey players playing mini-sticks in the hallway? LOL
  20. I remember our 1st ride down it years ago. Couldn't believe that stretch even after riding up there for a few years up to then.
  21. Fill up in SRF and head north. Not as big of a top up @ the trailer. Only time we've run the west side was coming east from Kap or Hearst. Rest of our trips to the Canyon were day trips out of Cochrane.
  22. That reminded me of this graphic LOL
  23. Just Googled that & the buyout was in the spring of 2017. I'm surprised I didn't read about it in the trade magazine we get (woodlot ownership).
  24. Last few throwback pics, From my 1st trip in 2000, stopped in Hearst for lunch My '98 MXZ500 parked @ the end. Stopped for the night in Kap' @ the Two Bridges (Advantage) Motel Stopped along the way to pick up some oil in '01 LOL
