hancop
What does yellow mean ? I know the definition is limited, but what does that mean ? are they worth riding ? Bumpy ? Not much snow ? Hard on the sled ? thanks

matt17
Depends on the area. We default to yellow when we open after our first groom. Generally the trail is mostly good-great but there are always some intermittent alders and other branches that occur on the trail from being cut. Hence it is yellow because you need to expect the unexpected more than you normally might. But I think yellow is more area dependant and has a wide range of conditions. Turbo Doo
Yellow in the NCDN, for me at least, is GAME ON. Better then most green trails around here..... Heck even when there red, they are still good..
Sevey
Ya that’s what I thought...... yellow to me means - heads up! There may be land mines out there . Watch for ditches that collapsed, rocks etc. Depends on the area and the club. came across a ditch a few years ago where the snow cap collapsed and left a hell of a ravine right in the middle of the trail. Cracked the sled real good and cost me over a grand to fix. Wasn’t even going fast. That’s yellow. ms
