slomo
Desiring accomodation in North Bay that had proximity to Lake Nipissing on the Family Day Weekend, we had reserved at Torbay Cottages. In addition to sledding the great trails in the area, the location provided good cross country skiing on the lake for ms. slomo. She also got to drive a sled for the very first time. Yes, you do look fat in that outfit.... Anyway, Torbay has a variety of accomodation types well documented on their website - http://www.torbay.net/ - we stayed in one of their efficiency units which could be described as 'motel unit plus'. The roll under bed is a great feature if you get up in the morning before your partner - simply roll the bed under the kitchen with her snoring away, and go upstairs for coffee in the kitchen. And with the full kitchen, you can cook food from scratch or warm up stuff you've brought yourself. Most services - restaurants etc. are within walking distance. Free wifi on site. Gas for sleds is a bit of a puzzler - if you followed the stake line on the lake to the west and then headed for shore where the stake line ended, you could make your way to a Shell station across Lakeshore. Parking was a bit tight at the cottages, but a lot next door is used for larger trucks and trailers. Parking your sled outside the door of your lodging is not a problem. In our unit, some of the fixtures and fitments were worn but overall infrastructure items such as TV, kitchen appliances, hot water, etc. all worked fine.
