Does anyone have any info on the conditions of trail C106A (C trail from Gogama thru Matachewan over to A). We were planning on leaving from Timmins going down C and then taking C106A over to Kirkland Lake on Thursday (Mar 24th). thanks

Hi: You may want to call Gowganda lake camp to get an update. The attached info. highlighted some issues with the connection to the C trail a couple of weeks back.

Ya unfortunatly Shining tree cant groom that section this year. You were lucky to find the C trail once you left our section of the C106a. That lake is called Cambel lake. That is where our groomer turns around and heads back to matachewan. How bad was the Grassy road ?

Actually the road wasn't too bad. A little icy, but there was some snow cover on it. Just lucky to find that little " C " trail sign or we would have went to Shining Tree.

The trail from the lake to the road was actually pretty good considering it hadn't been groomed.

Nice trip across the c106a.

We had checked ofsc trail map the morning we left and it showed green all the way to " C ".

This may be too late to reach you, but as of today those sections are back to 'limited'. There are some posts from Ron last Friday saying there are a couple sections that run the plowed road that were real bad after the rain last Thursday 17th. I was in Timmins on the 20th and thru Kirkland into QC on Monday. All was excellent other than a little gravel and bare trail right in Timmins. If they got a few inches of new snow the last few days the trails may be fine.
