Canuck Posted February 26, 2009 Share Posted February 26, 2009 While travelling from Sault Ste Marie to Elliot Lake with son (age 18) we decided to spend an extra day sledding. That meant Sault to Searchmount (I loved the mountain trails) and then south-east to the North Shore of Georgian Bay. We did not know of any accomodations in the area (Iron Bridge area) but a new restaurant in Thessalon said he'd call a local B and B for us. Well, it turned out to be a former lumber baron's home, with wonderful wood floors, bannisters etc. Our son loved the place, as did I. North Shore Bed and Breakfast 299 River St Thessalon, Ontario (705) 842-3173? File it away if you're ever in the area (summer on the North Shore is even better, we're told).
