whits-end
Any chance of a snow miracle in the Bancroft area before Sunday? Our group (couples) had a week long stay in Bancroft booked to day- trip the area (150-200 miles per day). We're re-thinking that and trying to decide whether to go north instead. Whacha think? Thanks.
I'll Ride Anything
Should be fine, 2-4 " of fresh stuff and a base that stuck around. Paudash updates fastest and they are all showing as Open again. Keep a keen eye for pressure cracks on all lakes, after the thaw/freeze cracks are in unusual places this year. Don't find 1 at 100 mph.

The Paudash trills I rode on Monday (Feb 23rd) where in good shape with any more snow they would be prefect with minor ice conditions. The lake crossing's where slow because of being bald and open but the pressure cracks where all over the place. No speed demons unless you know your lake. whits-end
Thanks very much for all the info. In the end, our group voted to go north instead, since there was no question about the trail conditions. It was great, as usual. We're from Burk's Falls/Sundridge, so we figured anything south would be 'iffy'. Having gone north for many years, we keep planning a trip to the Bancroft area for something different. But every year we seem to have bad timing. Thanks again, and we'll probably try again next year.
