Garfield
Need to do a 5 minute walk to my water access cottage to pick up a sled and do the same ride back...any ideas on how the ice would be in a very small bay? Thanks
Yukon
At this time of season I don't blame you for asking , I'd say if its a small bay with least amount of sun and wind exsposure you'd likely have ok Ice Also depends on rain , rain and warmth are the killer makes it swiss cheese. What I may have done yesterday I may not do tommorow for that reason . My best advice is take a auger with you and check for yourself , I know a 5 minute skip to the cottage is tempting but it ain't worth the risk ! I'm in a small bay myself and its 2 feet solid , having said that the water depth is only 4 ft deep I'm on Georgian bay ! Be safe ! Yukon
