SNOHAWK
Hi Folks Happy New Year Does any one know why the D trail is closed from South River to Powassan west of Algonquin park ? Just wondering if its low snow or water/ice conditions. Thanks Sno
snowowl
Would guess it must be low snow. I had read on the ADSC website that Sundridge area and north did not get the snow squalls that the Muskoka area received. Hopefully it won't be long. rockerdan
Low snow for sure....If you check the webcams you can see 50-60cms(20inches) on ground at Port sydney, then a similar amount on ASC webcam, but then sundridge cam is down only near a foot of snow, so as you go north from Sundridge it gets lower and lower, A buddy told me it only looked like 6-8" of powder around Powassan. Its always a low snow area historically as they miss most lake effect snow up there and need system snow. Then NB seems to get more and northward. some cams I often check to keep track..... http://www.skihiddenvalley.on.ca/web-cam.html http://www.loba.ca/web-cam/ http://www.muskoka.com/webcams.php http://www.algonquin-sc.on.ca/webcam.html http://www.muskokaman.net/main/ http://www.almaguin.com/wxcurrent/weather.html enjoy Dan
