any new info on Glen Garry Motel North Bay?

On a recent Sunday drive last Thursday, passed by the Glen Garry Motel and Cabins on Lakeshore Dr. in North Bay. It is right on Lake Nipissing which allows easy sled access, has a large parking lot and is close to food and other amenities.

revrnd had stopped in to the place in the past and it is noted in his accomodation database that the owner "didn't want snowmobilers".

However, did notice the GlenGarry add in the Yellow Pages which says "welcome snowmobilers".

Can anyone provide info as to whether place is sled friendly now?

In addition - does anyone know if there is trail access to Lake Nipissing from the Arizona Motel on Lakeshore in North Bay? It is fairly removed from the main clump of accomodations on Lakeshore, being to the east, but I seem to remember last year seeing sleds in the parking lot during family day weekend. Did stop to ask, but language problem.

Just an update on the Glengarry Motel and Cabins - some years ago, revrnd visited this place and was told by the owner that they didn't want sledders. So he made this notation on his sledder accomodation database.

Passed by the place last summer, and seeing the above ad in the Yellow Pages, I phoned Irene the owner to find out what was going on.

In earlier days when her father ran the place (been in business since 1959) sledders

had turned their parking lot into public access to the lake. Drove them nuts.

Eventually public access was available a few yards away, so the whole city wasn't using their parking lot as lake access. Place is behind the times - cash only, no credit cards, no debit cards, no email,

no website,no pamphlets, but Irene was very emphatic that sledders are welcome and rates are substantially lower than other places along the Lakeshore in North Bay.
