  1. Started about 11am here. Mostly blowing accumilation, but it is picking up as it goes on.
  2. About the same in Lindsay it's depressing.. I'm starting to think of going towards the Darkside and look at a 144" Mountain Sled and can for next year At least I wouldn't be chomping at the bit waiting for trails to go green
  3. Built in secondary alarm system... nuff said
  4. That warning is gonna be ping'n like mad w/the "Send It/Hold my Beer" crowd in the province ...
  5. I like your train of thought, but.... that's a lot of junk (165" track) hanging out back on the trails *Edited* - Or did I misinterpret your thought?
  6. Agreed, hence why I've been pondering a 137-144" track length recently. At least you can somewhat deal with a narrower ski stance when trails are green/avail, yet have off-trail capability.
  7. . Seems a 50/50 split on this with lots of banter back n forth over on DooTalk. Some are not impressed, some are, some are patiently waiting for the trail version, while others are waiting for blown/puked motors to happen. Will be interesting to see where BRP goes with this direction.
  8. 600R Turbo in XRS/RS trim would be more than enough.. Better stock up on some Depends when you ride the 850T in a trail platform. Just nonchalantly wave or nod at me when you see me beside you at the checkout buying them
  9. It be a handful in a XRS or true RS chassis.. pucker factor = 100+
  10. While I'd love to see BRP step up their performance trail sled line-up, it's just not going to happen. The current market trend is for these Mountain Sleds. A dealer probably is on a 2-1 ratio of 144-156" length track machines, even here in S. Ontario. From what I'm hearing from friends, even die hard performance trail guys are jumping up into to 144" track lengths to help combat or keep up with the ruts on trails from these machines. It also gives them the ability to off-trail when needed or to get a fix in. Reality is... Most of the younger/millennial crowd is trans-fixed by the manufacturers onslaught of Mountain Sledding videos pushed at them. The marketing hype is translating into sales. If there was a plethora of MXZ/Rush XCR etc videos being pushed on social, there'd be a lot more Performance Trail sleds being sold. Admittedly, I've been eyeing a step up in track length myself, given the lack of snow lately. Off-trail riding seems to have a certain allure to it with trails rarely getting the conditions they need for the general population. I had considered a Freeride 137 that was sitting next to my MXZ when i bought and I may still go that route eventually...
  11. Was at my local dealer about an hour ago. Posed the question, but they were remaing quiet on it (they maynot even know themselves), but all indications point to a T-Bo'd 850 Mountain Sled of some sort..
  12. Maybe a 900 or 1000cc 2S then, hopefully not the Turb'd version. Displacement is easier to work with or sell over a "tuned" (or in this case T-Bo'd) 2S factory variant. It's been done by BRP (600/900 ACE) and by all accounts is reliable and has a good customer base/following. The old adage don't mess with success comes to kind here.
  13. Possibly an 850 H.O. variant in various Freestyle/Summit/Backcountry trims. Can't see how BRP thinks that a Turb'd 850 2S plant won't have reliability issues, especially given the demographics of "Mountain Sled" sales are of the "ride it until it dies or just send it" crowd, then complain about it being the biggest pos on FB and other online venues...
  14. Yup, agreed It takes a few seconds to say "hey, sh*t happened while I had your sled, but lemme order the replacement parts or pay (whatever) to help ya get back up and running" and to show you I'm not a total (insert word/s here) about it.
  15. On the bold above, back in the day if any of my two-wheeled riding friends and I swapped out during a ride and something happened we usually fixed it at our cost. It was unspoken rule. The situation above may or may not have happened to either your friend or the owner as you mentioned. However, your friend was in the care of said machine, so they should at least make the offer to help pay for some of the damage. IMO that would be the honourable thing to do. Doesn't matter if it was the motor, or if the borrow-ee pitched it into something. Personally I say offer it up and if they are friends chances are no $$ will exchange hands and the friendship will continue. Don't offer it and they could lose more than one friend when word gets out...
  16. I think I might have to un-winterize the Zero-Turn and cut the grass. Should give you an indication of what the Kawartha are is like..
  17. What is ot you need? Maybe I could grab it and send it to you?
  18. Welcome aboard from the Highlands
  19. Quinns also had a few boxes of various plugs/adapters, 180mm wheels (for third/fourth add-ons) and ski handle rivets.
  20. If anyone is wanting a new or spare XP/XS RAP Cover, Quinns Marina in L. Simcoe has them on sale for $125 before taxes.
  21. Not good, actually. I just checked, no new Doo sitting in the garage. Just the same MXZ my Wife seems to have claimed as her own. Looks like the Export and Cheezies didnt work
  22. Not sure where he is or when he'll show, but there better be a new MXZ-XRS, Gade- XRS or Backcountry -X in the garage by morn. And to qoute Forrest - "that's all I gotta say 'bout that"
  23. These are probably the same entitled ones, that are on various FB Groups blatantly advertising they're on closed trails, yet "I don't understand why they're closed, they were awesome!" Then when a bunch if folk mention the trail is closed and they are ruining it for everyone in the province, the post goes bye-bye, cause they can't take the truth... Boggles my mind...
  24. By the same token, there are those that go beyond what is lawful and take matters into their own hands keeping people off trails/private property. There has been a FB Group post/thread with video of a land owner who has inserted t-bars and wire to keep people out. OPP were called out and a lot of banter as to whether or not it was actually township or the owners property. Some of the comments are.. well, they'll make you shake your head. We'll leave it at that. Regardless of which it is, some folk are having enough of others lack of respect when it comes to crossing property lines or utilizing a trail that goes through their property that isnt officially opened by the OFSC. Do they need to go as far as t-bar and wire or worse? No absolutely NOT Someone is going to get seriously hurt or worse. The ensuing lawsuit and media fallout will make it even worse for those that abide by the laws. Regardless of whether you ride trails, power lines, powder or d-bang, there will always be a few who ruin it for the masses...
