I Dont think it was mentioned, but the Log Cabin Inn, off the 209 is a pretty nice spot.   Wife and i usually hit there once a year for a nice dinner and stay.   Rooms are nice and the food is good.  It is listed on the sled map.

Thanks i will pass this on to them.

Probably belongs in the Rant thread but why do these charities insist on torturing people? Run up to the top of the CN Tower and then send money to a charity? Just send money. Unless of course you have a charity for those who ruptured themselves, suffered muscle and bone injuries, or had a heart attack while participating in a charity fund raising event. Hmmm.... too bad all the good ribbon colours have been used up....

Seems funny to me also .But i was told they are to film/document the ride. I'am thinking that Kelly Shires might use the footage for future advertisement.:wtf:

Trappers Choice is a little rough getting too. You have to run the sidewalk through the GM dealer and a well plowed No Frills parking lot. It is only accessible from the north. Food is good.I haven't been in the rooms in 30 yrs ..Canadian Tire Gas bar next door. Timmies within walking distance.

Thanks GT for confirming what i thought.  I have told my friend that  i've been by it in the summer on my Harley and i couldn't see a easy way to Trappers Den.I will pass this on thanks...

  4. Thanks Slomo. I was asking because a group of lady friends that usually do the Kelly Shires B=Cancer run won't being doing it do to the run being cancelled this year. However i guess they can still contribute by doing their own run by documenting it and Keiiy Shires will then accept the donation money. They have talked about the Trappers Choice. Have you heard anything about that place and their accomodations? Thanks...

Got mine yesterday Service On. I was the only one in the office took all of 5 minutes One less detail too get hassled about on the trail .

Went to SO  and got my new sticker. The girl behind the counter said techincally "i didn't need to" but she also said  "could depend on the Police officers discrection if you get a ticket." So i got it and it will be one less thing to get hassled about on the trail just like Coldfinger said.

Agreed on the lack of enforcement. I put on 5713kms last year all over the province and Quebec and saw ZERO enforcement. Not 1

If south central don’t get snow this winter, then I can see Lots throwing towel in. Already starting to see changes in south that I don’t like. Seems snow line has moved north use to be south of 401. Now line seems to be highway 86 area and north. Hasn’t been much riding below this line in, last four or five winters.

    Have to agree....

I know people say this and emotional that’s how they feel now or during the season, but after the summer break from the sport, there interests are recharged and last year is a distant memory, or at least the negatives ones are!

And I’m starting to feel the need for a new ride, so next year that just might happen :right_on:

  10. Rained most of the day here in Kearney Wind picked up in the afternoon and around 4pm it started to switch over to snow. Not much accumalation but is sticking to everything.Like most areas little frost if any in the ground.

  11. There is a big discussion on Dootalk about this. Lots of people complaining about Ontario not being included. Some hits but what i've read more misses. I think after one season alot of the bugs will be worked out. Anybody can go on Dootalk you do not need to join or log in .Click on forums and go to the "sledding general discussion" to see the thread.

  12. A good 3 inches on the ground last night. Hydro went off sometime during the night.Suppose to be back on by 3pm this afternoon.First day of 518 east closed at cashman creek for bridge replacement.Suppose to be out of service till Dec 29th.I think the finish date will be later then Dec 29th. Hydro update, it is now on at 10:15 am.Thats a lot better then the 3pm estimate i got earlier.

Just saying. On my viper I had to insure it as a 700 cc Yamaha sx to get a decent rate. The second I mention word viper, they barely wanted to talk to me.

When i insure my vehicles i have to give the vin. The insurance company knows what trim level or engine my sled or vehicles are.:wtf:. If you ever have to make a claim don't be surprised your insurance company doesn't pay cause you lied to them on your info. They look for anyway not to pay.Just my 02 cents...

I tried several times for the past few days. Doesn’t recognize email or password. Still waiting for “instructions” to reset blah blah blah! Every year same crap! So sick of this new age technology BS!! Give me a god dam local place to go and get my pass!! ...#bringbackthe90’s!

Sorry to hear of your troubles getting your pass. I had no trouble again this year but i do agree with you with being able to purchase it  locally.I always enjoyed this time of year of walking into the local dealer and buying my pass.I would then take the opportunity to look at all the product they had for sale.Sometimes i would walk out with something else plus my permit so i think it was a win/win for the dealer.
