  1. One more to add to the closed businesses, and this one really hurts Joanne and Darcy have sold Cedar Gables Lodge in Bonfield to new owners, unfortunately the new owners will not be continuing with it as it was. I am very happy for Joanne and Darcy though, they have worked hard over the years, great folks and great hosts. I will always remember our stays there fondly, it was a beautiful lodge! Best wishes to Joanne and Darcy on their next chapter, they will love more time with their grandchild!
  2. Any opinions on Hidden Valley Resort in Huntsville?
  3. The 2018 season is soon here, and one of our trips again this winter is the RAP tour. On the west side of the park, we've always stayed at Spring Lake Resort in Dwight (this year included), awesome place and host! Would like to try somewhere new...any suggestions for other accommodations in this area? On-site or very close restaurant necessary. Suggestions?
  4. Done the RAP several times over the years, booked this year for February 8-10. I can recommend Mattawa Golf 'N' Ski (you won't leave hungry, Mike and Brenda have become great friends over the years), Dinner Bell and Cedar Gables in Bonfield (guys trip Dinner Bell, Cedar Gables well-suited for couples, nice place, Joanne and Darcy are great hosts), Clarion Inn North Bay, and Spring Lake Resort in Dwight (very nice). We've stayed at Spectacle Lake Lodge, nice enough but had to bring our own food as the restaurant prices were too high. We've tried to book twice into Morning Mist in Stonecliffe but they will only accept a two-night minimum, so I cannot recommend them. I've heard good things about the Quality Inn in Petawawa never stayed there as we live 10 minutes away. We've stopped at the Bear's Den in Deep River, great restaurant. NRSA has a great new trail into the Bear's Den, very well marked.
