bbakernbay
A102Q Status - I road the whole length of A102Q today. 18 km of ice packed road running (no gravel) with moderate sanding on hills & curves by logging company. Chip transport truck hauling on road. I asked the logging foreman to have his grader high-wing the banks to allow sleds to get off ice pack road wherever practical. Once you turn onto the TCPL the last 18 km has been packed & groomed. The Jocko River was safe to cross today with no slush or water visible but Use at Your Own Risk. The Quebec Club said they would groom from Ottawa River to Jocko River prior to Feb 11th & 12th free weekend. The logging section will be designated 'LIMITED' and the pipeline section designated 'OPEN' on Wednesday, February 8th. OFSC signing in place. I don't recommend using this section unless you want to travel the Quebec trails.
bbakernbay
A102Q Status - Will be opened east of NB308 on Wednesday, February 8th. The 15 km section on the logging road will be "LIMITED" and the 18 km on the TCPL will be "OPEN" The road isn't all that bad. At our request the loggers high winged the banks but they are narrow They also scarified the roads to break up the ice most guys will fly right through there without thinking about it We have only groomed the TCPL once and I doubt we will be back this week
