revrnd Posted February 17, 2014 Share Posted February 17, 2014 Some comments about where we stayed on our trip last week. Huntsville - Comfort Inn: A couple hundred yards off Fairy Lake. LCBO & Crappy Tire across the street. the CTC gas bar is close by as well. There were 3 trucks w/ trailers parked in the lot. Continental breakfast & Crabby Joe's a 5 minute walk down the street. Port Loring - Wright Point Lodge: on Wilson Lake 2 miles south of town. AR 510 goes by it. No meals or gas. We rode into town after dropping off our luggage to fuel up & eat (@ Roxie's). They had ordered beverages for us & were in the fridge. Nice folks & room, the bathroom is a bit cramped for "larger" folks. Sturgeon Falls - Comfort Inn: fairly new place. Parked our sleds under the canopy (only sledders there). A fair bit of roadrunning to get there, but marked. No eateries nearby (ordered a pizza). Fueled up @ the CTC gas bar @ the intersection of Nipissing (snow covered) & Hwy 17. Sand Lake - Edgewater Park Lodge: stayed in 1 of the small cabins (3 riders in original plan). Very clean & warm. Food was decent. Gas was 1.677/L for premium. I had heard that Silversands's gas was cheaper but after last winter I'd rather not deal w/ them. Only 1 server dealing w/ a fairly full dining room, but no issues. The staff seemed friendlier than previously experienced in the area. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
