slomo Posted February 10, 2013 Share Posted February 10, 2013 The Village Comfort Inn is a good basic motel for a couple of nights stay while in P.E.C. http://villagecomfor....com/index.html A winter rate is offered of $85 per night plus tax, propane fireplace is a nice feature, rooms have a handy couch for sorting out stuff, napping etc. cable tv, plenty of heat and hot water, and a good size parking lot for trucks and trailers with some manuevering. Room was a bit crowded with all the sledding stuff, but manageable. Fridge is supplied, bring your own microwave, coffee maker, kettle, toaster, etc. This is mainly a summer time motel in which the owner keeps a few winter rooms open, while renovating the others. In our case, owner waived the 48 hour cancellation policy in case trails closed. Free wifi is advertised, but did not work during our visit - signal was too low to be useful despite a usb wifi antenna, so used cell signal link instead at our expense. Plenty of restaurants in the downtown area of Wellington, just to the east. While not right on the trail, it is relatively easy to access trail 1 - Millenium Trail. Sled along the sidewalk to Kal Tire parking lot, cross street and go maybe 75 yards on road to junction of the trail. The only lodgings in Prince Edward County that are right on the trail is the Waring House -posting the page with their rates first, if interested continue.
