Hey All,

We were planning to trailer to a cottage in Dunchurch tomorrow (Wednesday morning) and do a little 3 day loop to the Sportsman on Kukagami, then up around shining tree and back down to Temagami, then down the east side of Nipissing back to Dunchurch. The trails are temporarily closed around Dunchurch so our plan is to drive up Hwy 69 until we see good trails (HAHA). Seriously...perhaps to the French River or Alban then take the D104 up through St Charles etc.

We have left our truck at the loose wheel before but we stayed the night...any suggestions on where we could leave 2 trucks/trailers....are the lots on the north and south of the French or Pickeral okay for leaving a vehicle?

Thanks all,

Ken

Everything around Dunchurch is open according to Dunamik & Cramadog's sites. We are heading that way tomorrow as well. Have you heard something ?

Going north from Parry Sound could be a problem.

I am not sure what conditions are like on the C north of point au barile as they were pretty skinny on snow b4 the rain sunday. Best to check with clubs around French river.

Our trails are ok around Dunchurch but roads are bare and theres icy sections on trails.

Talk to Steve at Cedar Village Marina which is right beside the Pickerel river bridge. He has a huge lot & regular fuel on site as well. We stayed there Thurs Feb. 14 & were treated very well.

You must have purchased your wives something pretty nice to get away on a sled trip with the boys on Valentine's Day? :argue::argue::argue:

Hi All,

Thanks for the responses. We ended up calling the Owl's Nest after running into a few machines getting gas in Parrysound. The riders said they could not get north on C Tuesday due to the washouts and were going to try again on Wednesday just after we saw them. Rich said there were 2 groomers waiting to go out but they were not able to due to the lack of snow...his recommendation was to trailer to Sportsmen's Lodge (on Kukagami) instead of dropping and riding up. There was a lack of snow almost to Hwy 17, north of that a winter wonderland. We got to the Sportsman around noon and went for an afternoon ride around Wanapatai and area. The next day was off to Earlton via the 206 up to Shining Tree (trail in great shape as always) then across the 107 through Gowganda and Elk lake then the rail line into Earlton. All trails were recently groomed but there were serveral sections of logging that were plowed down to a few inches that will get ugly when the weather warms. Did 360km and had only a few km's of rough patches. Friday was Earlton back to the sportsman taking the 'A' south to Martin River, then the 106 over to D and back to the 206. All trails were is great shape around Earlton, New Liskard and into Temagami...a few rough patches around Temagami and on 'A' closer to Martin River. The 106 was great over to 'D'...the 'D' is a little thin with a few icy patches on the each end but got better as you went east. Other riders were saying tha North Bay is not in good shape and they trailered through and up to New Liskard before riding. All in all a good trip.....we left Midland on Wed. am and there was tons of snow, good levels north to around Mactier then it drops off until Sudbury then lots north of there.
