I maintain a fairly large toolkit in my enclosed trailer but I'm building a small toolkit to keep on my sled. I want to keep it down to the most commonly used tools that I should carry.  I have a '23 polaris which only comes with a driven clutch and spark plug tool..  My tool bag is 10’’ x 6’’ x1 1/4’’ (25,5 cm x 15,2 cm x 3,2 cm).

Here is my list (Hand tools only please) - looking for input:

    1. Adjustable wrench (8")
    2. Torx screwdrivers - What sizes?? (T20/25/27/30?)
    3. Philips screwdriver - what size? (I'm thinking #2)
    4. Combination wrenches, metric/stubby.  - What sizes?
    5. Combination ratchet wrench - What size? I always have a 10mm on hand.
    6. Plyers - std and needle nose
    7. Side cutters
    8. Vise grips
    9. Tie wraps.

    Any and all help appreciated!

Also I find having a spare rear tensioner bolt and rear idler can come in handy on long trips.

One of the guys from our group bought a new in the crate Yamaha at Harricanna in Amos about 10 years ago. Rode his to the dealership for when they opened and we rode out at 11:30 that morning with the new one. Awesome dealership. They gave us an apex demo to ride one day when we had to get a repair done.

Not as common today with four stroke engines. Many use to blow up engine on first day or riding. Most of those riders are on four strokes now.

  3. Only trails I hit that were flat were right behind groomer on b203 just past  Wesley.  I hit flat trails once crossing high 7 and 8 over towards Platsville. Flat and fast around there, who would have guessed. That was best ride of day all way back to Baden. Check it out best it's been in south. A guy told me from Princeton over 1 foot fell last night. Another storm or two we can ride to Turkey point

I would like to get a RAP run in this year!  Have been looking at the route for last few weeks, it’s close.
Have not been able to do it in several years  due to trail status or wife’s medical condition, glad that’s behind us now.
Have been all over the east side of the park, but not much snow here either. Hope you get it in Laborer, it’s a classic.

This year it is north and east.  Last few years it's been south side that has been low on snow/ice.

Ellice swamp was thin last week it probably is most of the time .  The rest was real sweet over to Sebringville . Note Dans Diner closes at 2 pm

I went thru on Saturday down middle was not bad but to the sides you have to be carefully of cut off brush for sure. I avoid power line from new Hamburg to Stratford it was pretty beat for last 10 or so kms back into new Hamburg. I came back near Shakespeare via side trail 👌

Elmira to Mildmay up  the B109  decent to better than decent . Mildmay back through Conestoga Lake a bit thin in the bush near the lake . Riding west of Stratford tomorrow expecting much the same.

Yeah not allot of snow that way either, some of it was thin last weekend, just north of Stratford.  Best trails were club trails off main route they had good snow coverage.

Looks like one can do it soon? Section of D near Trout Creek was not connected yesterday but its red today.

It's a road run there I hate that area. I can't remember exactly close to 17 km of road I believe. If roads good it's fastest way.

I have no interest in 2 strokes at this point. The Mach Z is a great sled but I wouldn't go this way next time. I've fixed

the few complaints I had other than BRP GO and the Ice Ripper track.

The next sled will have basic shocks, a ripsaw track with regular studs and a basic gauge package.

Great do you think 130 hp ace is enough power?

congrats on the purchase having only a few hours on my matryx chassis made it one of my favorite handling sleds of all time .run the poo oil extreme as its made only for sleds in cold temps from what I understand .If an oil is marketed to many seasonal applications you gotta give up something

Nice which model of Polaris did you purchase?

Yes, straight swap. The 2 stroke seats are narrower and taller with firmer foam.

Are you liking the Mach or ready to try a 2 stroke again?  I really like 130 hp version of 900, but not a muscle sled like version you have. Been eying a new Polaris time to switch back. I know you still bitter about that 900 fushion 😆

    No, also another big loss

That trail when it was groomed properly it was a blast to ride. Starting to loose interest in this sport. Finding hard to get into places now more so then before.

Can I just say losing that 50 series trail along that side of Hwy 11 - that come to the crossing and into our system is one of the most devastating losses for me.....

    I loved that trail.

I love d102b from deer hurst to kearny too. No easy way now 🤣

  13. Going up D trail to sand lake is easily doable, have a bit to eat at restaurant there. Can head out check out the ice caves and ride back via d. If d's in good shape it's nice easy ride.
Plan b could trailer to info centre at 518 and do easy ride to ice caves and some of scenic d123 trail to Burks falls. That one is one of my favourite for stunning views. I would avoid big hill if you don't have studs though.  I think if you take al300 it avoids hill but I can't remember exactly where it is. It's a stunning hill if you can navigate it. I am pretty sure it is between 300 and d north. I have had a few oh crap moments on that hill but never ended up in reburb. Lots of riders wipe out on it, if it's icey it's a tough go 🤡

I was on that long asphalt run a few days ago ,still brutal . Never again .  We were trying to run the lake to Bellwood , did not find the access point to the lake . May have just missed it , being pissed at all the road running .  Hope you find it .

Have you run Conestoga lake at all?

I haven't parked at Linwood since the trail opened through the Waterloo R&G. My riding buddy lives 2 minutes from there so we ride from his house.

Actually hoping to ride from home this week if the trail lasts through the weather Monday. I want to go through Luther Marsh and down into Hillsburgh.

We rode from a buddy's place in Harriston yesterday. Rode up through Durham, Varney and back through Mount Forest, Palmerston. Those trails are in excellent shape.

Anyone ran up Belwood Lake from the damn to Belwood? I'd like to short cut to get to Hillsburgh trails.

Where do you typically cross belwood? What are hillsburgh trails like thanks?
I checked grca site and it says ice fishing still closed as of this morning Feb 2, for belwood.

Quite the luggage you have there for a day ride - planning for the worst!

Bit of a nasty wash out.

What is with the hockey stick?

You can turn it side ways and make sure oncoming sleds stay on thier side. After that report of mad max sleder a few years ago, csn be ready by carrying your own stick around 🤣

    I get it.

I just looked and my son got his first 120 at 4 - it was used

We got rid of it and got a brand new one - he used is sparingly ( hockey ) and we replaced with the 340 just after his 7th birthday

He was physically too big for it by 7 - regardless of speed

Thanks that helps allot. I skipped kitty cat this year, will try to find 120 for next year. By December he almost be 4 so it should be perfect 👍 He has been eyeing hockey.
