  1. After trying to volunteer with local club last couple years I have given up.   I will volunteer time.  As will another member on here for same club.  But it was like getting your wisdom teeth pulled to get any info and it was always incorrect.

Call district and they say call club.  Club says call district for training.  They say call club.

    Need chainsaw course.  Done.

    read sign course material. Done.

    where do we meet?  Silence.

when is a work day?  Silence.

crap I can stay home with wife if I want to be ignored.  Why try hard to get it?

If the infrastructure gets built and the battery performance is there this isn't trouble.  It's progress.

    So what infrastructure is required?

Multiples of charging stations for cars?

New high voltage towers and lines?

How about 12 nuclear power plants will be required to be online producing power our electric vehicles to meet the Governments 2035 target for electric vehicles.

How many power plants have you heard are being planned / built?

Only upgrade costs really. OFA gets a discount too on a new truck usually around 12 k off or so. Good time to upgrade now, as new trucks are coming in and inventory starting to pile up on lots. Used still selling well too, and will continue to do. Around 25 to 30 k to upgrade now, which isn’t bad at all. Just a ball park. But I have two people that take my used one off my hands, for trade in price plus hst, plus safety and any related parts needed. Good used trucks hard to come by.

You better check your OFA discount before counting your savings.

All discount plans are reduced right now.  I heard today that OFA will be downto $2,500 for 2023 models.

Any thoughts on a Yamaha dealer selling Arctic Cat snowmobiles? Is this happening elsewhere?

If the new Arctic Cat beats that Sidewinder then I guess a second Arctic Cat will be sold from a Yamaha dealer.

Better have an alternative vehicle available that fills the need before this is ever considered.

Hopefully this becomes the straw that broke the camels back.

Just an update and it might help ease other peoples minds incase they’re waiting on a confirmation email as well. Mike @ Rickwards assured us they ordered our sled (which we weren’t doubting) and also sent us confirmation on their end that they had ordered it.

Mike explained that last year out of the allotted amount of sleds they were given, about a third of the people didn’t receive a confirmation email from Polaris, but that they all received their sleds. So if you haven’t received a confirmation email, no need to worry.

So was he able to determine where your sled is?  Or when you will receive?

Mine is in transit.  Dealer was invoiced March 3 but as of March 28th sled was still sitting in Manitoba.

Not that  I am worried as now it will stay in crate in dealers storage facility until fall.

I was told warranty for 2022 sleds must start by April 20 2022.

A friend from Port Perry made a similar decision in taking a late delivery snow checked 2022 650 Matryx Assault that the buyer had walked away from, rather than snow checking a 2023. His 2022 arrived about ten days ago. He saved a couple grand and doesn't have to worry about not having his new sled for the start of next season.

Has anyone been following the steep fall in prices of late model, low mileage sleds? Seems some Covid sledders might be exiting the sport.

Lets see how sled market reacts to interest rate increase and fuel price increase.

    Double whammy for some.

Will dealers be stuck in the fall with a bunch of 2023 snow checks?  Might be a good time to buy a new sled if I didn’t just buy 1.

  8. When you look at the hotels in and around Cochrane, Smoothrock, Kap. Etc. You would think the local businesses would all help to keep the Canyon Loop open.

Every hotel will will be plugged solid for the next month there.   And all sledders spending big cash.  Bigger this year with outrageous gas prices.

Why is keeping the canyon loop open the responsibility of the sledders only?

And wait any day we will hear of $7/litre or $8/litre at Base camp!

  9. I have never been to Base Camp.  Been to Cochrane a couple times now.

I have no problem supporting a small business that is run smartly.  Hell I would be happy to donate cash to the place.

But based on what I have read and $6/litre gas forget it.  I will never make the trip!

  10. On Thursday afternoon we rode A trail south from Elk Lake all the way to New Liskeard.   It was in great condition.    Some drifting in fields but still in great condition.

This morning we rode the A trail from New Liskeard to A101D.   It was in great shape.   From Latchford to Temagami was one of best condition trails I have ridden!   Groomer operators deserve praise in that area.

  11. Ox, I have the MX visor on my Mission helmet, it has 2 positions.  I find the lower position great for blocking the sun on bright days.  Yes I also use the sun visor but a lot of time prefer just using the MX visor to block sun from eyes.

As for chunks, my Titan had the 1.8” Cobra track.  No one followed that sled up close.

That is exactly what I thought it was as well - I know on other days I did just that and ran my finger along the seal at the top of the visor when I took my helmet off, which was not often on the trails honestly.

We only stopped for lunch twice I think all week, so really no reasons to take it off.......maybe that exaggerated the issue.

The two vents at the front froze up as well on a few of the days.

How did you have the vents set?

i have not had seal issues and have only plugged in once.

But am still trying to get the two vents figured out.   Had a little frost at edges so I adjusted vents and it went away.
