Yes all mid grade gas in ontario is mixed at the pump. You have to be a math whiz before you push mid grade button though. 9 out of 10 times it is cheaper to buy half regular and half premium and do two transactions. I usually pump 5 L of premium into a can, then I get pure premium. Then at end I do another transaction for regular and pump remaining 5 L of premium out of hose. All combination pumps here mostly now using one hose. Hoses at  Costco probabily hold 8 L of fuel too. What a pita.

I should go back to a gas truck so I have somewhere to dump the regular.

I never thought of buying regular after buying premium to get it all.

I was was told by a Polaris mechanic about the leftover regular/ethanol fuel in the hose when buying premium.    Polaris tech told me buy premium but leave the sled fuel selector on regular fuel and you will get max engine life.

We need to go back to separate hoses for separate fuels.

  2. Textron might see an opportunity.

    130,000 sleds sold globally yearly.

100,000 sleds sold in North America.

    4 manufacturers.

If Textron has a new idea or twist for the sled market there is only 3 competitors to compete against.

Might be a better or easier opportunity in sled market to gain / build business then in other markets.

Or Maybe their EZ Go golf cart business and it’s electric capabilities will be flipped into ATV or sled line and they could perceive an advantage for future.

No. It is a high tech fully enclosed van trailer. He told me he does two runs to ontario every single week to get veggies. Usually stops end of October. Doesn’t work in winter and is a big snowmobile. Does 6 to 10,000 miles a winter. 😂

    You are his backhaul.

  4. The regular permit buyer should clearly be informed.  It’s no wonder the rumours fly around about who gets paid to groom or free sleds for people.  Or whatever.

    https://www.snowmobile.org/snowmobiling-statistics-and-facts.html

Snowmobiling is a big business and the revenues generated by permit sales should be clearly explained to the permit purchasers.

How many of the 43,000sleds sold in 2020 were in Ontario?

How many new sleds sold in 2021?

How many ordered in Ontario in 2022?

Don't forget these were the same guys that whined for years about the 'doo RV motors using a primer for starting...

Those of us that had them knew the drill & could start them in our sleep.

There was nothing worse then someone jumping on your sled in the bush and priming it 5 times and then saying the junk won’t start.  Then the hours spent trying to start.

Our junk Moto Ski Supersonic was 1 -2 Prime only (I think) not a bunch.

Boy did I love the Polaris choke when I got my first Polaris.

  6. 2022 will be a completely different season once mass vaccinations are completed.

Possibly 2022 or 2023 will be the return to no restrictions if you look south of the border at how they are opening up.

How much much is the shortfall?

I have never been there but wanted to do a trip including a stop there.

  7. Maybe the OFSC can step in after the year they had for permit sales.

There was expenses but Parry Sound was shutdown for a good part of season.

The season started late and ended early.

    How many permits were sold?

    Revenues vs last year?

I'll have to be a back of the pack guy LOL.  It's nice that the two up seat and box come off quickly as well.  Pop those off and hit the trails.  My daughter is old enough now for me to take her on short trail rides to see how she likes it.  I'll take both of them on it when we groom the trails around the property.  I will also volunteer my services to Nunz for getting trails packed this coming winter.  I'm actually pretty pumped to get this sled.

Titan is a good all around sled and will surprise you on the trails.

And when everyone else is stuck you can pull them out.

Just don’t get stuck yourself or you better call another Titan.

Yeah, a couple days later someone assumed it was abandoned.

Why would you wait multiple days?

Too make sure it was gone before going back!

Similar to posting a month later that it’s missing.

  10. You need to be able to clearly have vision down the sides of your rig past the back corners of your trailer.

And more important If the cop can see you in your mirror from back corner of your trailer you should be good.

They can’t see you.  You can’t see them.  Then you could get a ticket.

I know I know.  It is a sled that I said I would never own in my life time.  My XCR was useless for taking the kids or towing.  I"ll be able to groom trails on the property with it and take the kids with me while I do that.  Once they are old enough, I'll be back on a normal sled.

    Don’t underestimate the Titan.

It is a big machine but you can still ride it.

And do everything else you need.

Great entry point into the 'off trail' segment.  Definitely good price point. Congrats..

You mean a snowmobile can go off trail without a 3” paddle and turbo?

I had a buddy growing up with a Tundra Long Track.  300cc I think.

Go just about anywhere without a 3 foot deep trench.

I mean you could follow in it’s tracks.

Given the prices that used pickup trucks are bringing these days, I'm not sure anybody would be upside down on a zero percent 7 year fiinance

Buy a new 1500 and drive off the lot.   Drive it for 6 months and let us know how you make out.

After 6 months you will have paid approx $4500 off the loan on a $55,000 before tax ( $63,000 after tax ) truck.  So you owe $58,500 on truck.

Truck will be worth maybe $45,000 - 48,000 max on trade.   Maybe you can save the taxes if trading in but You are upside down already.

Right now trucks are hard to come by because of semi conductor shortage.   But in 6 months will the market be flooded?

A friend in his fifties recently bought a new Ram pick-up on the 0 percent interest for 7 years promo. The truck could have been had for almost $7K less if cash were payed. But its not just the interest that is problematic, its that all debt, at least in theory has to be re-payed at some time. If you can't pay outright for your toys in your prime income earning years, when the hell are you to pay off all your toy debt? In the same time frame as that new Ram was bought, I bought a 1 year old Ram with 17K km, a 3 year old sled with 2000 km and a 5 year old beauty of a motorcycle with under 8000km, all totalled for about 60% of what his new Ram cost. The vehicles I bought are fully owned assets, no payments to be made. If I die tomorrow, there is lots of inheritance to share. If my buddy dies tomorrow, his beneficiaries will have to clear up a bunch of debt, before selling off his assets to see if there is any real value in the estate. Too many toys on credit is poor planning at any interest rate.

The depreciation kills on the 7 year or 8 year 0% deal.

The owner is upside down on payments for years.

Now for some people the long term financing can get them in a reliable new vehicle at lower payments.  Sometimes you have to.  I have been there.

Not sure about entitlement - I would say confused priorities. In the "Wealthy Barber" by David Chilton, his strategy is "pay yourself first". (first edition) He advocates your allocations should include pension and savings payments each month to (for)  yourself in addition to paying your external bills. If day to day bills are paid and RRSP's and TFSA's, emergency funds etc. are taken care of to top up levels each year, indulge yourself with what is left over for other things in life.

Good practice if you can follow it.

But the YouTube videos of a 165” long track doing a wheelie in 6” of snow are more appealing to the cool crowd then a kid sitting on a shitter reading the Wealthy Barber!.

  16. We stayed a couple nights at the Chain of Lakes Motel.  It’s 2 buildings over from the Super 8.

Rooms were decent but dated.   Bathrooms could use refreshing but it was clean and staff were nice.

Trail was across highway and down the road about 150m.   You could run the south ditch into town no different the Super 8.

    lots of parking

    I will book there again.
