Hahahaha. I do the same with some tractors.  Out of sight out of mind. Then you don't have to drudge that phone call.  I have one that's giving me abit of grief at moment. Needs tires now too. I think I just trade that one in.

What tractor have you got for sale?

People get caught up in the what it is worth to me vs. what it is worth to others/market can bear......the latter of the two will usually see success, the first, not so much......

I was just talking to a friend who is selling a used vehicle, they are stuck on 27K mark for it, dealer offered 23K when they bought their new one......stupid thing is they would have saved almost 3K in taxes on the trade in......lol.

3k on taxes and not had to deal with kijiji or Facebook marketplace BS - priceless

A tent trailer is around 26,000.
A nice hard top side one where ends just fold out and you have access to most of trailer when ends are folded in is around 45,000 ish depending on options. Those have  full size fridges and stoves and nicer washroom. Motor homes are closer to quarter million dollars now 🤣

Yes some pop up campers maybe that price but There are a number of manufacturers selling your standard type travel trailers in smaller configurations aimed at the smaller tow vehicle and budget crowd.

Some of these trailers may only be 7’ wide single axle now also.  I have seen many of these on road in last couple years

How many families have an SUV?  Now they can camp.

How many times have comments on this page stated sled manufacturers need a low priced entry level sled?.

Camping trailer manufacturers are at that point.

Whats considered "lower price" trailers? Im trying to sell mine with zero luck currently ..

Most are  $20 - 50,000 I believe.  Some higher priced.

A lot of smaller SUV towable

  5. Well my buddy wanted to ride his rebuilt  Boost so last minute we decided to head to Poplar Point Camp by Elk lake and try place out.

    Great cabins.  And super owners.

We went out with owner for a ride Friday afternoon and ran out of snow to north East.   So we turned around and rode South into the higher elevations.

Fun ride on logging roads.  Yes some thinner spots.  Yes I hit some rocks.

Today my buddy and I were out for a few hour run.  And heading out again after lunch.

I know it’s not for everyone but I already own the sled and extra carbides.  Plus spare skis so WTF.

My AT4 came with those stupid Goodyear Duratracs, So im riding my winters as much as i can. Ill probably buy the Bf Goodroch all terrains again. Great tire

I just heard that. Frigging wild

My AT4 came with Goodyear Territory MT.  Loud junk.

For this winter I decided on Falken Wildpeak AT3W over the BFG KO2.

The AT3W are an amazing tire so far.  Deep lug and quiet on highway.  Good in snow I encountered.

And after driving through ice storm with my sled trailer a couple weeks ago where hwy 11 was a sheet of ice and high side winds I will not hesitate to recommend them as a winter use tire.

I will use my Junk Goodyears up this summer.

    With 7s?

    7s is a great feature.

The maps may not always match the sled trail but normally close enough so your not lost.

I was on a group ride in QC and the trip organizer sent us the routes to download for the day.  Having the planned route and also the location of other riders in the group on the map was easy to track

I saw new 2023 Indy 850s for $13995 + freight at the dealer in Timmins a few weeks ago.

Why buy a used sled when you can get brand new for that price?

And other dealers are not happy they are dropping the prices so drastically.

It ruins the non-current, used and new market.

  9. We stayed at Super 8 last weekend.  And also for a weekend last year.

Hotel is being cleaned up by new ownership.  Standard 2 bed hotel rooms.   There are a few motel style with direct walk outs from room.
We were on first floor in main building and had to walk out central doors.

Parking was a crap show.  Why they let guys leaving on saddle bag trips leave their trucks in main lot all week is beyond me.  They do have a secondary lot across street.

They do have a bar on site.

And there are a number of restaurants on site   Trail comes in to Tim Hortons lot next door.

Skidoo is offering $1k off 24’s right now, along with “special financing” or an extended warranty

They do not want to take a bloodbath either.

Dealers are going to suffer.  12% on floor plan.  Plus reduced profit if they have to offer a discount.

I wonder if a dealer would prefer you buy a leftover 2024 at discount or Snowcheck a 2025?

How firm will manufacturers be on forcing inventory on dealers?

Doesn’t matter if I buy new or used as long as nobody tells my wife whatever I buy or order or actually spend on this hobby i will live to see another day!

Whats the Farmers Almanac say for next winter?

  12. There is a Problem with the Polaris site when building your snowcheck.

The VR1 with Dynamic shocks has 7s gauge included.

But when you build sled is allows you to add again.

That’s an additional $1,700 in cost.

  13. While riding this week came across CJ’s diner just east of Kirkland Lake in King Kirkland.

Good food and a pretty good variety   We had Saturday night Steak dinner special.   Good steak  great value.

Thay also are open for breakfast

It’s a little late for this year but hopefully OFSC adds CJ’s to the map.

    Should be liquor licensed soon

  14. Highway 11 was closed this afternoon.

Trails were good.  3 to 4” of fresh snow on top of hard icy pack.

Rode 134km this aft.  Unfortunately 20km of my trip was pulling a 2024 Polaris Boost with 70km on the first engine.

I guess the second engine will be better next year.

saw a groomer out this evening. Should be good to go.

  15. Made the drive to KL this morning.

All the way to south of Temagami was light to heavy rain.  plus 9 south of Temagami.

North of Temagami temp started dropping.

    Roads were okay to NL.
By NL it was -14 and freezing rain.

After NL to 112 cutoff we drove on white ice with heavy heavy winds.  Trailer was pushed and wagged sideways and pulled truck a few times.

60kph drive from NL to Kirkland.

Cutoff at 112 into KL was whiteouts.

probably 6” of snow on road in KL.

Lets be honest, you would have to be on crack to buy a sled today.

Prices are only going to fall on them from now until next season.

Big question is who is lining up for Snowcheck offers?

we are heading up to KL Tuesday night, staying overnight and hoping to sled to Cochrane Wed. night, Hearst Thursday, Friday Iroquois Falls, Sat back to KL. all Tentative at the moment. any idea how the trails are around Kap, as the OFSC is showing as yellow, just wanting to know what to expect. Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Hoping the Tuesday thunderstorm does not wipe out trails.

    Thunderstorm?

I am headed to KL Wednesday with a few buddies and we only see light rain forecast.   5-10mm  Hopefully it’s very light rain followed by the 15-20cm they are calling for.

I didn’t want another cat so bought the doo.
I knew it wouldn’t compete with the cat, which I was fine with.
I’m happy I bought the doo, even more now.

All I meant to say was once you buy the  ZR 9000 or Thundercat then likely to add the tunes.   My buddy just did his ZR 9000.  I will ride probably it next week.
