It's usually as good as trail and owner of moose horn was in process of cutting a trail off into power line to avoid ploughed road at lodge end. Road was never bad when I used it.

Marty is a great guy and very passionate about everything he does, not just snowmobiling. I recently heard about his speech at the AGM and I support him 100%…. Without people like this, snowmobiling in southwestern Ontario will be done with.

Blue Spruce resort is located just east of Dwight on hwy60 and the Oxtongue river. They have nice cabins with kitchens, and fire places. If you want to dine out, there are restaurants in Dwight, Dorset, and Huntsville.
Haven’t been there or in that area for years! Love it sound there. Great trails, great accommodations, and great hospitality

Last time I was there was 2012…. We rolled in and I felt like everyone else looked at us like we were supertax TV…. Albeit we did come in hot w a brand new F250 and matching trailer,
loaded w 4 brand new cats of all desire, and a brand new Duramax w 2 brand new Doo 800’s… was cold AF and conditions were decent considering it was the only place to ride in Onterrible at the time …. I am from down Windsor way and have always enjoyed my times riding at the Forest. Looking to possibly go there this year for a few days

Elk lake Wilderness Resort is nice. Stayed there a few years back. Nice renovated cabins w fireplace. Meal plan was reasonably priced and food was amazing. They also have a sauna on site as well, plus premium fuel

The Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs has reduced their trail systems across the province to 24,000km. District 5, which Glencoe has been for years, has lost 533km of trails. Glencoe is part of that loss. Although we are no longer a trail building club, we still have a member of District 5. On behalf of the Glencoe&District Snowmobile Club, I would like to thank our members that have supported us over the years. The many local businesses that have supported our club. The many volunteers that worked on the trail set up and removal of the many stakes and signs, making snowmobiling safe in Ontario. District 5 and last but not least the the many landowners who have allowed us to cross their property over the years.
Our trais are now closed! If you have problems with snowmobiles crossing you property this season, this is a trespassing issue and you will need to notify the Ontario Provincial Police. Better yet notify the Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs, 1(705)739-7669, and express your disappointment with their trail cuts and the concern about the safety of snowmobiling Ontario!This is my club. Definitely shitty outcome for sure. We’ve tried but to no avail… this is the outcome. Now I have to trailer to at least Strathroy.

Back in 2010 we lost a section of trail and our club house to a new landowner and it completely changed the atmosphere of our groups riding. A few folks lost interest just because it was always our first and last stop of the night. Sounds odd, but it was never the same after that. We all missed it and a few riders bailed on sledding over the next season.
Trail closures at this point may result in me hanging it up. It sucks feeling this way about right now, but thats where I'm at.
I am the in the same boat. It’s been a struggle for sure over the years with the smaller southern clubs. I now cannot leave my place and be on trails that I have ridden since I was a child. I too may be on a hiatus for a bit

I’m going to hinder on No, the clubs own very minimal, or it’s someone’s personally property they just use, or at least that’s how I’ve seen for my club. They took our groomer and drag away last season and we were left w one trail. Just found out last week that our club has been shut down

Nice looking trailer… been quite a few years since I priced a new trailer…. Guessing a trailer of that magnitude doesn’t come equipped for sledding unless one pays to have it done?

Muskoka, is like that. Takes all day at times, but good lord do some of those side trails kick ass!… generally my go too when in that area!.. let the donkeys beat the crap out of the main link

Even knowing what trails were open or closed was not considered a great deal (I know, should not be saying that.....) - if we ended up clearing a trail instead of riding near a buddy's cottages, that is what we did for the day, if trails were beat to snot, lakes were a great alternate, thankfully we had one guy that knew the lakes like the back of his hand, if he was not there, we would be lost and maybe a few of us no longer here....lol
Conditions, winters, trails, the system have changed some since then too.
We were the same back in the day…. No ITG and barely into cell phones at that time. We would just call resorts, motels or gas stations and get reports. I can recall one time in March… was St. patty’s day and we got sun burnt and a 2 man limit of walleye on Detroit River, got home and cleaned fish, and parked the boat and loaded sleds and headed north the next day first thing…. Oh the good ole days! lol

I’d say they were the first to cater to the rice racers…that your traditional drag racer really didn’t relate to very well…lolIt’s my go to as it’s about 30mins for me to get there. We always camped there as teenagers for that event, sure did have a lot of there. If I’m not mistaken, I believe the track has been redone

as for the strips, grand bend and TMP always seem to do a good job of supporting their strips, st Thomas struggled for years after they lost their nhra status if I recall…do they still have that speed bump between 1/8 and 1/4 mile?
drag racing is a great memory, but I always wonder how things are going these days.
St. Thomas dragway was bought the Spriets, which is I believe either engineering firm or law firm. They have put a significant amount of money into this place and have brought it around ten fold. Placebos generally busy every wknd of the summer. This wknd is big rig nationals and it’s a huge event! They have done well there I’d say from when I first started going there back in the 90’s

I have heard that the OFSC is considering just TOP trails in Southern Ontario.
That being said they permit is too cheap. I will be ordering my Quebec permits on Oct 1 for $425 and feel that I get good value for that price.
It may be time to consider to folding up some Southern clubs to save money? Even with the best year that we have had in the last 10 years, how many days did Tillsonburg club open for example? One could make a case to shut down everything south of Mitchell or Exeter.
Totally understand your theory. … but…. I for one, love having the availability being able to trailer to Mitchell to access the greatness of D5/D9…. Take that all away from me….i become a trespasser… our Glencoe club is on the verge of this exact same issue! Already lost our groomer and 70% of our trail system… down to a staring point trail that doesn’t loop anywhere

Have the same sled w close to 23,000kms and have beat the living snot out of that thing since new…only now am I having issues w everything else falling apart on the sled… except the engine
