That missing section on the ITG is a trail that bypasses the road running from Base Camp to the dam. I was wondering what happened to it as well. Also, has anyone heard if the West side of the Abitibi loop will be open this year again as it was closed for much of last year with permission issues?

The signs are a good reminder and worth a try, but does anyone here honestly think it’ll help? I hope so but if people don’t have enough sense to stay right through a corner or over a blind hill is a sign really gonna change their riding behaviour?

Some clubs are quite active on their social media pages informing people when/what trails have been groomed. Most are not which can make trip planning difficult. The ITG is essentially useless for this, it’s basically just a “cover your ass” to know if a trail is legally open and that’s it. Which is what makes the usual “refer to the ITG for updates” script we always get particularly frustrating. We rode “green” trails yesterday that were essentially unridable they were so badly moguled. Had we known we could’ve just went elsewhere and had a much better day. On the weekend yes, we all assume everything gets beat up and groomers struggle to keep up but mid week It’s nice to know where is good to go. Providing information costs nothing, a few sentences typed on a club page can help a lot of riders plan.

I always take it slow through there and still I’ve had deer run out the woods and almost hit me a few times on that stretch of B106E between Marmora and Bancroft. There are “Deer feeding area” signs on that trail just north of Eldorado, I almost always see lots of them standing on the trail in that area.
