  1. OK, I'm not going to say that this is an awesome wildlife pic, or that it could only happen to Diane on her first REAL sled journey, only that if you know Diane, that it was SURE to happen.

Birds will introduce themselves to her almost anywhere. They just KNOW she's their patron saint.

It’s bad enough our climate is changing for the worse to us sledders but these trespassers just make things worse for all.
unfortunately it’s unlikely these clowns are truly aware of the damage they are doing to the sports public perception and future stability.

    I respectfully disagree.

There will always be those that loot stores in the middle of a hurricane.

I take full responsibility for this.

    My nickname is DarkCloud as every time we go on a motorcycle trip it rains;

this year for the first time I bought a snowmobile......it rains.

    Definitely a pattern here.

    I am sorry.

I blame Brian. I suggest a ritual sacrifice. What have we got to lose? Who's in?

  4. That and not being talked down to by horse face was worth getting off the couch and lining up to vote right there.

My tandem cargo trailer is more roadworthy than any single axle, and yet I was going to be penalized for it by needing yet another tax grab dropped on me twice?

Part of the problem with the comparisons, many skew the numbers, either lowering diesel consumption or inflating consumption on the gassers. During fall cruise to see colors with my bride, straight hwy run across 401 to 35-115 n up into Haliburton saw the Ram hit 9 ltrs / 100 flat. Yes it was a relaxing cruise that is not typical of how I drive it but it sure is capable of great mileage if you give it a chance. As for the reported 14-16, even with my typical using remote start n short runs around the city, barely hit 16/100 city runs only. Open alum car trailer with a Mustang on back up to the Soo a yr ago,  hovered at 16.2 for the trip up, way back with a lighter Merkur on board, hit a hair over 15.

To me, fact it's just that much better on fuel n tows better vs my previous Sierra is a bonus, just plain like the truck so much it could be worse on fuel and I'd like it just as much. Even better, haven't had any of the one thing after another problems that plagued the GM. Keep in mind, coming from a guy that figured he'd always be driving something out of the Generals stable.

    Did you mention Merkur?

They do enforce compliance but just like the highways there is absolutely zero likelihood of charging every operator who commits an infraction of the MVA or the MSVA.

    Maybe it's different in Kitchener.

3 years riding here, haven't seen a sign of it. I did speak to a couple of officers once filling my truck at a gas station. Their patrol went from Renfrew to Cornwall. I suspect they were referring to all of district 1.

    2 sleds, one patrol.

Is there a way to verify this? It seems absurd.

If the MTO is involved with the trail permit, why doesnt the OPP enforce the regs saying you need it on OFSC trails?

    Precisely.

If the provincial government's name is on the documentation,  they have a responsibility to ensure compliance.

No damn different than the roads.

Most of these offenders in our area are out at night,  and are unlikely permit holders. I do agree permit prices need to go up but it wont stop the ignorance.

Convicted thieves get nothing but a free meal or 2, so what are they going to do with some idiot trespassers. Nothing

Only answer is Baseball Bat Balaclava treatment

A little of this would go a long way.

I was really surprised at the attention I got when I took matters into my own hands recently.

It quickly escalated from a polite response to a 911 call, to 3 cars, and a follow up by the staff sergeant.

    Squeaky wheel gets the grease.

  9. I pay over $1000 a year for "transit tax" and I have not set foot on public transit since that ONE TIME back in 1992. (I'm still in recovery,  55 minutes to go 11km, not including the 40 minute wait for a bus that runs every 15 minutes...)

I'd be all in favour of this, especially if it motivated enforcement.

  10. A word of caution from my experience... There doesn't seem to be much of a end of travel stop on the screw.

I typically cranked mine "over the top",  just past the TDC so to speak, for stability.

One time I was distracted, and went a bit too far. Sled fell forward, could have been a mess.

I crimped the he-double hockey sticks out of the threads and exercised more caution since.

They are similar to the Doo ones, but a bit different in shape.  IrREVerent and I tried his Doo ones on my sled and they wouldn't fit very well.  I can't remember the exact problem, but we both concluded that they were a fail.  The pictures of these on Royal's site look like they are on a Vector or Apex and they fit over the brake and control block nicely.

I was going to pull the trigger on a pair, but seem to be sold out. Happily Amazon has 'em.

  12. I would have liked to buy a Beckner, but went with a Lightning too.

I think if I wasn't quite so far away, things might have gone differently. I live 610k away.

I need stand up height in any trailer I'll own, so that narrowed the field quite a bit.

The only thing I would have changed on the Lightning is the chipboard walls.

Any money they saved doing this, I spent on 2 coats of stinky primer and paint.
