  1. Give it a go . Sounds like a hell of an adventure . Your group could get shuttled around the more challenging areas . Hire a local guide if needed. With all the tech available today , sat phones gps reliable sleds etc. why not take some time research the possibility .

  2. Was in Mount Joli  last Friday . 40 plus cm of snow driven by a stiff 90 km  breeze . Had a road crew and police escort back into town . We were 25 km from our nights destination when the winds started to howl trail stakes were almost impossible to see .  Never heard anyone complain about the weather that night , next morning suns out and ever piece of snow removal equipment was pushing snow . By 10 am everything seem to be back to normal .Groomer passed by at noon. Oh did l mention the 40 plus cm of snow .

  3. That is the trail section  I set up 585 this particular area has not been a known wet spot . My guess is that since it was plowed the rain pooled  up   a thin layer of ice , snow cover perfect trap for the groomer. Last spring buried the ranger about 2 km from here had to leave it for 2 weeks . Billy came from St Clements with the Argo winched on it from a few angles final broke it free . Drinks were on me .Poop happens no one to blame .

  4. Had a guy come down off his porch with a shot gun  I  was past him and his wife drove into the parking lot l stopped her told her about the guy with the gun .She said yeah  he is crazy but she has all the shells  don't get to close to him or he will hit you with it  All part of sledding folklore
