I guess sledders aren't allowed @ the motel either?

Huntsville imo does not want sledders. They tried once a few years ago to accomodate sledders but that only lasted one season.

  2. There is a quarry on 60 near where the MTO does pop up inspections  just east of Huntsville called MacFaddens. I might have spelled it wrong. Maybe Mcfaddens. Like others have posted club should maybe ask local quarry's for help.

Picked up a 2 year old 8x12’ Mission trailer at the end of the season. Towed well empty but much more wind drag than my old 8x10’ clam shell Triton.

I like this modification the previous owner made to prevent the skis hitting the door frame.

Good idea on saving the sides of your trailer. Just a thought. You could also use those pockets to hold extra bottles of oil, spare drive belt, spare skags, sliders or tie down straps..Just my 02 cents..

Enjoying this thread. Lots of good info on the trailers. Thanks Slomo for posting things that you did or did not like on your trailer and posting how you made little changes to make it your own. This info hopefully will help people make a better informed decision when purchasing a new trailer. And like BP said "do a good summer check over to avoid frustration when you are needing your trailer".Keep the good tips coming.:)

They checked for trail permits and only a handful had to blow. I didnt hear anyone complaining when we were stopped with a few other groups.

Just curious where did you get stopped and asked to blow?

Four times in one day would be a pain in the butt... I'm going to guess the increased presence would be the radar runs and an increased tendency for many of the increased traffic to have a few there during the day.

So was it really a complete stop or did you just slow down and get waved on. They could do that 10 times a day for all I care... especially if they get some freeloaders off the trails. Also if you don't have a val tag I'm going to guess they likely don't have insurance either, perhaps even a drivers license.

Waved me down, i stopped and then the Opp  looked at my trail pass and val tag to make sure they were current. Then waved me on. I have been stopped at the Highland Rovers groomer shed and had all my info ran/called in. The reason i know this my buddy heard my name come over the scannner. He asked me later in the day what i had been up to and i said nothing. My buddy then said he heard my name on the scanner. He figured i had been speeding.Lol....

  7. You have been lucky 02Sled. I have been stopped 4 times in one day. I was heading from Kearney to Parry sound via the Seguin. i was heading to the radar run on Horeshoe lake. Got stopped by Opp three times on the way over and once by the same guy on my way back. If i had to blow into a stupid machine 4 times that day,i know i would not be happy as i drive sober.I was ticked as it was by being stopped so many times.

Tell your buddy to get a newer sled.

Couple of years ago i was in at Rickwards Polaris when Rob pointed out this old Arctic Cat outside. I said it sure is in nice shape. Rob said it is a 1973 and he just finished puttiing brakes on it. The guy told Rob he was doing the Rap tour. I couldn't believe it! My back still hurts when i think about that.Lol...
