A good windshield is the first requirement. I have leather Motorfist gloves that are 4yrs old now, and have only had cold hands once. It was -35c.

As much as I don't want to drive my motorhome on salted roads, I am just about ready to buy some rear tires that have some lugs and take it north.

As a tax payer, I can see how some will have sense of entitlement.The problem is that some of these places, the taxes are ridiculously low, counting on not having to winter maintain the roadway. Once the owners start demanding maintenance, they better be ready to cough up more property tax

Was out yesterday from Seaforth up to Lucknow. So more kids riding their own sled following a family member than I ever have. I was out with 3 12yr olds on their own sleds, and the other parent noticed this too.

As per the OPP, they have no right to ask you where you are coming form, or where you are going.

They are literally 4 minutes from my door, and I prefer to go elsewhere. I have been to Bluewater Trailers new yard, but haven't been in there to talk to anyone yet. Soon buying an open 18ft car/equipment trailer.

It is getting ridiculous. Keeping people locked up inside their home without any outdoor activities available will have no effect on Covid . It will cause MANY suicides and mental health issues, as well as physical health issues.

I still miss my old HJC Airtech2. With the HJC neck curtain attached at the bottom. Could be -40 and you were still warm in there.
Using an HJC modular now (CL Max?), and I like it except for wind noise. No electric shield and never had it fog on me in over 3000kms or riding.
Best part is that it was not a $650 helmet to buy

But the rise in action sports means that is not everyone's position. Wingsuit base jumpers are generally all over 30yrs old.

Did about 200kms today before they went red. Need to pressure wash the sled to get the mud off from one particularly bad bush. But was happy to scratch the itch.

We were red. But having 50acres to rip around on at home at least let's me and the kid rip around some.

Pull into heated shop. Add StarTron to fuel. Run for a few minutes. Turn off key. Put on sled dollies. Push into corner.

Took my kid and drove up to Durham and rode to Owen Sound. Stopped for lunch at Kettles. Too much road running though. Trails were respectable through the fields and bushes, but roadways had no snow left, even after the 5in they got the night before.

Just a bit of a shout out to the new owners. We rode up to Temagami from North Bay Saturday, climbed the tower, and decided it was time for lunch. We were just going to go to the restaurant at the PetroCan, but people at the tower suggested Temagami Shores. I had stayed there some 20yrs ago a couple of times, but didnt think about them having a restaurant. So headed that way. Talked with the new owner (like less than a month ago he took it over) and he was a younger guy from Tillsonburg who is a sledder as well. Made some suggestions to him about signs saying they serve food (he already had them ordered) as the signs on the trails do not indicate that, and talked a bit about the place. Food was excellent, and we wished him the best, and next time north we would definitely make it a destination for a saddlebag stop.

Just back yesterday. For the most part conditions were still great on Monday. If staying on the lake side of town, the trail to go north is getting pretty bare in spots. Took the river back to the lake at the end of the day. Had a great 3 days of riding. 1120km! Monday was a 450km day.

Back in 02 or 03, 4 of us were riding from Thedford Ont to Kap. Sled I had at the time was a piece of junk so walked in to dealer and asked what he had for x amount of $ that he could guarantee would make the trip. Left with an 01 ZRT800. Halfway in to the trip, discovered that the oil tank cap and fuel cap had been swapped, which is a big deal because the oil tank cap has a vent and the fuel doesn't. Caused the oil tank to collapse and starve it for oil. Made it 10miles short of Kapuskasing when she let go. Called from trailside to dealer to let him know. Brought it back to him and he fixed it no charge. 2cyls, 3 pistons, balance shaft and crank.
Have also had to thumb my way from Englehart to Temagami after being pulled in to the gas station across the road from the Grant plant. The 1993 Zr440 did not agree with wide open northern miles.

Started in Kirkton this morning. Rode up to Mount Forest Golf Club for lunch. Did a loop up through Durham, and back down to Kirkton to end the day. A little over 360kms.

I believe the bigger issue is the lack of volunteers, and the workload on the ones that do the work. I know that in our club, which I have only been involved with for 3 years now, there are only maybe 4 or 5 people who actively seek trail permissions and routing. And that is for approximately 130kms of trail. In farm country. And I am the young guy in the crowd at 48yrs old.
