Will a newer expedition with the 154" long track fit insude an 11' clamshell tilt and load trailer? Also any issues with weight on these trailers with two expeditions? At over 700 lbs dry I could see the total weight wet getting up near that 3500 lbs mark for the single axle by the time you add in fuel, snow and the weight of the trailer itself.

I think the replacement cost of equipment is arguably the biggest concern right now for these organizations. It's ridiculous how much msrp went up in the last 3 years.

Typically around $40 yes. Buy the permit with insurance. Then go on the insurers website and claim your refunds. Cheque will arrive in a months time. You get it all back this way. If you select no insurance when buying they charge an admin fee of like $20. So you lose half the refund.

$35 increase. Quite a bit. If you get out and ride its still the cheapest part. Only seems expensive if they sit in the garage and don't move. Ontario will be going up for sure. No word yet on how much.

Why not use the stackable fuel caddy for oil if you dont need to carry fuel?

Must be one good patent BRP has on the fuel cans. Can't for the life of me understand why Polaris hasn't offered a solution unless the patent is that good. BRP has made a fortune selling them.

Maybe with a slower economy we will get the open house events back next fall. They were always good for 15 - 20% off. Haven't occurred since covid though. That's the last time I saw anything with linq written on it on sale.

Shame on the insurance companies really. If I'm paying to insure my toy why should it matter where I'm storing it. They're always looking for an out.

2 sled fires in one trip. That's just bad luck. Looks like they are very close to finishing if they can get the sled repaired.

Guys from around home did something similar over several years a while back. Started at the east coast ad rode home (Ontario). Next year they rode to the BC border. Then bought mountain seeds and headed up the Alaska highway to the Yukon. Final year they did the top of the world highway ride. Am quite impressed with the 3 old guys ride though. They definitely took a more northern and remote route.

Just saw the joint press release between the park and the OFSC. Very exciting!!!!
Algonquin Park and the Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs are pleased to announce a new partnership to open up 500 km of Park roads for snowmobiling for the winter of 2024. The new trails will cross the park in both a north south and east west direction with key access points near South River, Whitney, Rolphton and Mattawa. Grooming operations will be completed by the local Snowmobile clubs that border the park with summer road maintenance continuing to be completed by the park. Only snowmobiles that are 10 years old or newer will be allowed on the new park trails to respect the sensitive environment. All trail will be on existing roads, so no new trail construction will be needed. OFSC president was quoted saying "We are pleased to move forward with this new venture working in collaboration with Algonquin Park and the province of Ontario. It will lead to increased economic activity in the communities that border the park while respecting the sensitive environment of Algonquin Park that all trail users enjoy visiting. The new trail routes will add options to the already popular Round Algonquin Park (RAP) tour". Trail maps outling the new routes will be released later this spring and a marketing campaign will begin next fall to promote the new trails.

How far north? Can I unloaded at the STP yard? Or need to be further north? Forecast is rain Friday for Sudbury. If that changes its definitely a contender.
I was looking at the eco centre if going to Elk Lake. Is it decent?

Any road running on that run? Looking at this weekend and debating what to do. Was thinking Kirkland Lake, but hotels are filled with kids sport teams. Maybe Elk Lake. Didn't know if Sudbury would be too far south to start.

They're all shrinking the fuel tanks which sucks. Doo's are a 35 liter tank. You have to go to Polaris or an expedition to get a tank at 40 or 45 liters. Guess they figure 75% don't need any more than 35 liters. The 25% that do will buy fuel caddies. Seems silly. Shrink the tank for mass centralization and weight loss. Then strap a fuel caddy on the back in the worst place you could add that weight from a handling perspective.

900 Ace Noise

What is everyones experience with noise levels comparing a NA 900 ace to the 150 hp turbo to the newer 130 hp and 180 hp turbos. The NA motor is whisper quiet (can literally talk over it at a trail stop without shutting it off). I've noticed the 180 hp turbo r seemed quite loud at a trail stop last winter. Are the other turbos similar for noise? Or are they quieter? Also does it change if you go from a renegade to an expedition or grand touring? Or are they all using the same muffler?
