Cabin in the woods in Redbridge if its big enough. You can book on airbnb or direct. Avoids all the less than stellar trails near town. I hope you dont book my dates up on me. :).

I saw another air bnb in the same area posted on NB clubs facebook page.
Last option is Camp Conewango.

There’s no frost anywhere.
There is in areas where clubs have groomed and driven it into the ground.

Any trail updates from this weekend?
Lol
Exactly what I was going to ask. How much snows on the ground and is it groomed? Will definitely put the area on my ride list for this winter. Great post.

At 15,000 sleds, each rider spending say 200 $ per day , give or take . That is a descent win fall for the local economy . 3 Mil per day ,NICE ,
Wonder who came up with that number. No doubt they've been busy. But 15,000 sleds in one day? You're talking 15% of the permitted sleds in Quebec. Doesn't seem right.

Plus 2 now with light drizzle.
Well, that's a start. Thanks for the update.
Anyone in North Bay or Sudbury? How about Stonecliffe?

Green grass in Peterborough. No real surprise there.

we do not need wet snow at all ,we need some cold first
Take the snow. Clubs need to pack the crap out of it. Build the trail. Days of a month of 20 below before the big snow hits are gone. Yes there is still some swamps, but a good portion of the trail systems are on solid ground.

Depends model showing rain all up past north bay at moment. It's a Texas low so some serious warm moisture with it, that's going to push cold air more to north. Southern Ontario calling for 33.50 mm's of rain starting Tuesday evening after light snow. 🤦♂️
They get rain amounts right 90 percent of the time.
Musoka airport they calling for 28 mm's of rain Tuesday night and another 10 mm's on Wednesday morning. Not much snow ahead of it.I'll still take it. Right now, we have everything to gain and quite literally nothing to loose. There will be a snow line somewhere and north of it trails will opening. This storm is hitting a large portion of Ontario and Quebec. Never count your chickens before they hatch, but this is better than what we've had the past month if the forecast is even 50% correct.

Looks like a rain event on Wednesday. I guess that's our January thaw 😆.
Not where it matters in cottage country and north.

If the storm next Tuesday pans out hopefully it will provide more options for everyone. I'd never discourage folks from riding, but yeah it will be beat in short order on the weekends.

LOL - pestimist.
Start late and finish late.....if you are willing to go to where the snow is.
I remember last year one of the guys on here from Kenisis lake area had many ride reports in and around the Dorset area when many were done for the year (cannot recall his name right now).....and Dorset is not that far!
Might be a great year for the lakes, who knows.
100% correct.

Hi everyone, I'm seriously considering traveling to the Saguenay area on Jan. 11 and I'm looking for some recommendations for places to stay. Just a bud and I so it doesn't have to be fancy.
TIA<.
P.
If you decide to go I highly recommend going mid week. Will get much better trails. Expect the weekends to be very busy.

Entire east coast was wiped out by that last storm.2 weeks ago. Was double digits and 40 mm of rain. I'm sure they will recover shortly though.

I was talking to my dealer this am and he said they are not taking any sled trades unless they are absolutely stealing them. The market is shifting so fast no one can react fast enough.
He said given the choice of being stuck with a new non current sled or a trade that he has too much money in, he would much rather just hang onto the new one.
That makes sense. He can push back on the manufacturers for rebates on non current new inventory. Used he's on his own.
I'm sure this will pass. Sport isn't doomed and was / is due for a correction. Many of us predicted a year ago that this was going to happen.

What were the early season permit sales like? Anyone have any intel?

Cash only last time i was through. With starlink it would be easy to get debit and visa. They won't though not wanting to loose a cut of the $5 / litre gas.

Whats is this trail like that runs out towards Georgian Bay? Is it worth the trip out and back? Also what is the C trail and C101D like to the south / east?
-
Trail 111 and 170 just added to the ITG. Will have to go check them out this winter. Wonder if there is plans to connect to Palmer Rapids. Would complete / add a new loop.

Always good practice to run a lien search. Also a CPIC search to ensure it hasn't been reported stolen.

Most unfriendly snowmobile town there is. Head further north to Fenelon Falls.
