  1. From what I've read the narrower TC167 will be better on fuel than a TC118.  The low rider version of the TC118 was designed to combat this issue.  Getting the deck lower to the ground reduces the drag at the back of the trailer which means an easier pull that's better on gas (would have to go to auronautical school to understand it, but thats what they say).  The TC167 deck is already lower and is supposed to be better on fuel than either version of the TC118 as there is less surface area to the rear door.  You can go to ther other brands and get a lower roof height knock off version of the TC167.  This will be better on fuel again, but you are giving up headroom in the trailer which not everyone will like.  Lots of folks on here that own these that can comment more.  Good luck with the purchase.

The torsion arm is integral with the “square” tube that twists inside the four rubber “springs”. If any one or two of the rubber “springs” crack, break or sag out, the torsion arm and tube usually go to the negative camber and toe out direction. Hence tire west on the inside tread. There is no repair for these situations except axle assembly replacement.

Sounds like that might be what's going on.  Will have to have a closer look at mine.

I think I would take it for a drive on a bumpy road and see if it loosens up. When a torsion axle wears out the tires start to wear! The pic with the rubber is what’s inside so maybe it can be broken loose. You have nothing to lose by trying it! I replaced mine at the manufacturer but Princess auto should have something reasonable too. If you take it off for replacement, get a new piece of thin sheet insulating material if it’s dissimilar metal. Good luck.

How do they wear with a bad axle?  Mine seems to still ride fine, but I'm noticing the inside treads on both tires are wearing much faster than the outer tread.

This is a great story about some hard work by club volunteers paying off. Unfortunately the OFSC has seen fit to participate in a combined MOU (agreement to allow useage) with that of the ATV association. If all OFSC clubs have to get said  combined MOU signed and this club goes to the landowner in the news article with the combined MOU it will no doubt be the end of that section of snowmobile trail. JMHO.

I don't think that's what the MOU that was signed states.  If anything the MOU states that the OFATV will work to help address issues like this.

  5. Ignition tether.  It you fall off your sled it kills the engine.  Prevents your sled from running away from you.  All ski doo sleds have them standard.  Other manufacturers offer them (some standard and some as an accessory).  Having two small kids around we've made it a habit to always wear them.  Sled can't start unless I'm there and if the kids grab the throttle when I'm not looking (kids will be kids) they aren't going far before the machine will be dead and stop.  It's a habit you get into and makes for a safer ride should something bad happen.  There was an incident in BC years ago where a runaway sled hit someone.  The owner was found at fault as they weren't wearing the tether the manufacturer had provided which would have prevented the incident.  As stated in the video E-linq combines your tether and your heated shield cord into one.  So it's only one connection to make to the sled.  Makes the argument I don't want to deal with cords a mute point.

You may want to check out the CKX Contact helmet as well.

Agreed.  That's either going to be an excellent lower cost option to the Oxygen.  Or it'll fog terrible and be a flop.  Will be interesting to see.

  7. No experience with CKX, but I wouldn't consider anything but an Oxygen.  Tried a Mission helmet on out of curiosity at a dealer one day after owning the Oxygen for half a season.  No way.  It just felt claustrophobic after getting used to the openness of the Oxygen.  Don't ever see myself going back to a helmet that has a mask stuck to my face.  For sizing measure your head and reference this chart.

Regardless if there is going to be a fuel stop or not, are they planning on grooming the distance from Wawa to Searchment ????

It's been done in other locations.  If they've posted about a lack of fuel and have a plan for the operators why not.  Most people pack fuel caddies.  This can work imo.

Wonder how they will handle groomer fuel requirements.

It's been done lots in other area.  200 litre skid tank solves the groomer fuel issue.  It's operator accommodations when they get into 12 plus hour trips that need to be overcome.  Also sled fuel.   Good to hear a plan is in the works.

  10. This is a huge opportunity for another vendor or vendors.  Wonder what the true cause of the decision not to attend is.  I find it hard to believe that they wouldn't make money with the traffic their booth saw.  Every second person at the show was leaving with a royal bag and something they'd purchased.

I guess you have never sold for a store with anything imported into Canada?  Exchange rates are killers

Look at GM dealers right now.  Price went up $6,000 - 10,000 on a truck.  Do you think manufacturing costs rose that much?   Or did the dealerships get a CDN dollar exchange rate increase?

There are GM customers who had ordered trucks 8 - 12 months ago and are now getting a price increase on their 2022 when it delivers.

Thats all fine, but customers are going to push back / stop buying.  The increases that have occurred over the past couple years aren't sustainable.  Wages are not coming close to keeping up with what market prices have done.

Tides are and will change, bad for business to keep dumping on the hands that feed you.

100% agree.  The silliness is coming to an end in all industries.  Can't happen soon enough.
