SRF side is limited,  due to,  OPG plowing a section for access.  Just a heads up..

When we head up there soon I may just go up and down the east side instead as much as I like playing in the powder, not interested in riding plowed areas.

Considering jumping from Cat to Polaris and sno checking a '23 (if there is such a thing).. i'm in Kitchener so we have Apex, i've never dealt with them but every time in there kicking tires they seem like a nice bunch.

For those long time Poo owners, who do you say is the best?

    TIA<

The best dealer is the dealer that will jump through hoops to help you out and not just save you a couple of bucks, So far my experience with Peak in Barrie has been very positive.

The Polaris Snowcheck Program starts Feb 28th.

I would have 6 sleds needing this type of service on 3 March, from the Chapleau side to Timmins, should it materialize.

However, I have now added contingency room bookings in Hearst and Cochrane, anticipating not being able to do the big loop. The Chapleau and Wawa rooms get cancelled in about a week and half.

PM me, We will be in Cochrane starting Sat March 5th and heading towards Hearst and Dub then back till the 12th

What ski setup was he running Nunz?  Guys are saying the snow trackers make a world of difference on them for the heavy front end feel.  How is the noise on the 900T.  Much quieter than the 2 stroke?

He was running the snowtrackers actually, was very impressed at the lack of darting on the loose snow

  5. I was at a friends cottage on the weekend and we got to ride his Matryx 650 137 and his 2022 Renegade 900R, was very interesting to compare them and see the differences. Personally for me if I was riding Northern Ontario or Quebec the 4 stroke would make a ton of sense, for tight and twisty trails we all preferred the 2 stroke 650 Polaris. You could really notice the weight on the front end. He had also taken his 900R to Accelerated Tech to have it revalved and dual rate springs and torsion springs, He said it is night and day different with the proper set up on it. Both great sleds for sure albeit different. I think if Polaris were to bring a 4 stroke out I would certainly consider one but only after spending some seat time on it.

  7. Our District- 7 is going to try with a twist on Trail Patrol this season and for seasons to come with Vest Labelled " Trail Ambassador" and District 7 on them, All members clubs will have riders wearing the vests with the idea being that if there is a perception of a Presence on the trail it may reduce the issues that are harming our sport. Is it the answer to all the problems, No but I feel it is a start, We have developed guidelines based on the OFSC Trail Patrol program and modified it a bit, ie carrying maps and information but also to try and educate riders while we are out there ourselves on the trails

Will be interesting to see the response we get as more trails start to open.

As many other have said above something needs to be done and quickly to save what has been created and to sustain our sport.

Were you shedding a tear there Nunz - I know you are a passionate man about the Poo and sledding .....

I see Kerry has been busy with his updates lately regarding the trails, accidents, etc.....

lol, really hoping both sleds arrive in the next week or so, Between working on club stuff and trying to plan a couple trips north is getting very frustrating to say the least.

Reached out to a buddy so I could have his sled to sit on for the interview was kinda funny though.

Trying to stay positive for the time being.

  10. Hopefully the issues causing the trail to be closed can be resolved somehow and have the trail opened up this year.

That being said I think there is more to the story which hopefully questions that are being asked are answered.

  11. Like others have said I would certainly try and see if you could demo or get a chance to try a couple of the sleds you are considering, Both brands build great sleds and very different seating positions and handling on them 2 stroke vs 4 stroke. We ordered my wife a 650 VR1 137 for this year, If you have any other questions about the Polaris sleds let me know and if we could meet up for a ride I would be more than happy to let you try ours for a few minutes.

Dealer choice is also a major consideration as Blake mentioned, the Dealer that will look after you when there is a problem is worth quite a bit more vs the dealer you save a few bucks on when buying it.

    Hope this helps you,
