I am guessing no sunny south trip this year? I was counting on that one steller week when you head south again this winter.
Haha. You are correct - the best 2 weeks of sledding in our area was when I was the in the DR on vacation. I dont think we will be going anywhere this winter. My wife and daughter are RNs and they cant leave the province without guarantining for 2 weeks before they can go back to work.

I have to permit 2 sleds and I am not sure whether to buy 2 Ontario and 1 Quebec or the other way around?

I can understand why guys still keep them. A well maintained 2001 MXZ700 is still a pretty decent sled. Sleds had a huge improvement in ride/handling/power from the mid 90s to the early 2000s.

Everyone slows down because they think you are a cop. LOL!!

I can see why they froze it at 99. You still see a surprising amount of early 2000 era sleds on the trails.

Last year I put on over 1000km from my driveway in Monkton
I was in Dominican for the week that we had snow around Mitchell. Its ok. I went to Gaspe for 7 days of riding and did most of the Northern Corridor loop in March just when things started to shut down. I missed my last trip to Amos though at the end of march.

Omg! If every sledder in south actually follows they with this, sport will be finished below Barrie no doubt. Hoping for some steady cold weather. I only got in a few good rides last year and made one trip thru that famous marsh and it was a goat path in middle of feb, so sad.
I have not ridden south of Muskoka in the last 5 years. I couldnt even tell you the last time I have ridden around Mitchell. My girls went to University in North Bay so it was always an excuse to go riding up there as I could stop and see them both on the way and on the way home.

My parents normally rent a condo in Florida for 4-6 weeks every winter. They already cancelled their place for this season and my dad told my mom he is buying a sled. Its probably his last chance to get riding with me before he is too old. If this winter sucks, it will be my last as well. I spent WAY too much money chasing snow the last 3-4 years.

My Cat dealer is well connected and the factory has apparently launched an appeal today and have told dealers that they will continue to ship/sell sleds in Canada like normal.

We got a dusting in Mitchell - thats it.

I paid $725 from Desjardins for my 2020 850 XRS which was a bit disappointing. I do pay a bit extra and get $2M of liability and full coverage.
I dont think thats a good deal at all.

It appears that unless you belong to a group or an association, The Personal doesnt really want your business.

The dogs will have to be in quarantine for 10 days per Health Unit regs. I am 100% positive they will be put down on the 11th day.
There is a Go Fund Me page for Sadie if anyone is interested in helping out.
Friends of our kids had a St Bernard that was borderline vicious. I am not afraid of dogs generally but there was no way I would get out of my car when I went to their house if the dog was loose. It finally bit a young child and they put it down.

I read about a dog attack in Minden but didnt know any more details. Sounds like it was horrific

If I was buying a 900T I would just take the 3 years and get the free track upgrade. The 4yr warranty really isnt a selling feature on the 4 stroke IMO.
I did end up ordering an 850 and I took the 4yr warranty and paid the upgrade for the track out of pocket.

Man, those are good looking sleds. Congrats!

I think its going to kick the crap out of pre-season sales. I have bought a new sled every year for as long as I can remember and I am really starting to think I will just keep mine and ride it again next season. My wife is laid off right now and it looks like she wont be back to work until June so this is going to put a bit of a pinch on my disposable income. I am sure there are a lot of people 100x more worse off than me as well.
I am good personal friends with my dealer and he told me off the record that he expects Snow Check to be down by at least half this year.

Yeah. This sucks. My wife is laid off and she is being told that she won’t be back to work for at least a month. I am a Realtor and am essentially out of business right now as no one wants to have strangers in looking at their house nor do they want to go out and look at new houses.
And now the trails are closed.

Parked at the driveway entrance to the Moose Horn Lodge, outside of Chapleau, where you get a home cooked dinner and breakfast. Not on an OFSC trail. cheers.
I was just there last Thursday night. Neat spot.

There was water flowing across that at 10am on sunday

I just got back from a 1400km loop starting in NL and heading north. The consensus from our group would be to start in KL. There is noticeably more snow north of NL and the trails were beat in the NL area. Also, the river that runs through NL appeared to be breaking up a bit. We couldnt get on it from the trail today. We got on but we had to find a spot up the road a bit further.

Light snow in timmins at 9am.

Sorry guys. Ontario sledding is going to suck balls this year because I just bought 2 OFSC permits.
