  1. Closed but unlocked is probably the safest thing for the OFSC to do this season.   If someone says they got the Rona from a club house, you can tell them that they were trespassing and shouldnt have been in there in the first place.   Locking them will lead to vandalism and increased liability for reasons mentioned above.

  2. New Brunswick has carefully worded their press release to say that the shelters will be posted as "CLOSED" but kept unlocked in the event of emergency.   This way people will end up using them but the snowmobile federation has released themselves from liability.

I think locking the warm up shelters in Northern Ontario could lead to bigger issues if someone ends up freezing to death because they were stranded and couldnt get into a shelter.

Wowsie. How did you manage to put all toys thru buisness. My account aka my mother wouldn’t sleep at night if I cheated by one 1 cent.

Owned a car dealership and a motorcycle shop.   They were all "demos".   :).     Its ok.   We had several tax audits and never had an issue.

  4. Over the years, my I have to admit, my dad has been pretty good to me.   To the point, it could be considered spoiling your kid.   I always drove a brand new truck growing up and when we were in business together, our business always paid for my sleds, seadoos, dirt bikes etc.... He never really questioned much.   My dad and I have put 1000s of miles sledding around northern Ontario since the mid 90s and our last trip together was probably 15 years ago.   He has had lots of sleds but the last sled that he has ridden for a full season was back in 2011.    Normally he goes south for the winter but the 'Rona is keeping him in Ontario this winter.   I thought that a nice way of repaying him for everything he has done over the years is to take him sledding this winter.    I picked up this lightly used 2020 Indy 850 for him and we are planning some good rides this winter.    Its permitted, insured and ready to rip.   He always looked after me when I was growing up and I am pretty fortunate to be in the position where I can return the favour now.   I am looking forward to this winter probably more than the last 10 years.

  5. Needed to get insurance for a 2nd sled today.    Emailed Desjardins Agent in town with VIN.    Within 2 hours, I had a response with a price and a pink slip.    They asked if I wouldnt mind popping over in the next few days to pay my bill.    Price was actually $8 cheaper than TD.   That was easy.

  6. In this case, I dont blame the OFSC.    They paid to map the trails and develop their own app.    I am sure that TrakMaps paid for the data as well.   The OFSC should be compensated for their work.

Just got my renewal from Desjardins on the XCR 800.  They want $700 this year

My 2020 850XRS is $726 tax inc from Desjardins.

TD spit out a quote of $650 on their website with $1M less liability insurance.    I went with Desjardins as I can just email or text the local broker and the policy is looked after without being on hold forever and I will always speak to the same person at the local brokerage.

  8. I got my renewal from Desjardins in the mail today for $726 and thought I would make a couple of calls.    The Personal Rep told me that they are now only taking new business from people who are part of their groups and that I should just call their sister company, Desjardins.    TD can f-off.   I wont use them if they were half the price of Desjardins.

  9. I met a couple of guys last year in Rimouski who were riding Expedition Extreme 850s.    They both really liked them.    They said they were better machines on trail than they expected them to be and were unstoppable off trail.

  10. I like to think I am pretty good at these things and I always pay a marine tech to winterize my boats and seadoos.    This way I know it was done right and if there are any issues, its the shops issue and not mine.

  11. Why dont you ask your dealer to see if they will give you a credit for the new take offs skis?   I did that a couple of years ago and I think I flipped the dealer $100 in cash for red skis installed instead of the black ones that came on the sled.    I am sure he just stuffed the c-note in his jeans and put the new black skis into parts inventory.
