I don't see how traveling from Mitchell to Cochrane meets the lock down rules for NOT traveling from area to area. If you do this, then you are no better than the idiots in the GTA that go to each others houses and party etc. Although your intentions are good, you are breaking the rules like it or not. Locals in Cochrane could and should report you.
If there is a law that says we cannot travel, then I will stay home. The Northern regions will not be in lockdown at that point and I live in a low risk area. I live with 2 RNs (wife and oldest daughter) and they both tell me that as long as I keep any/all interaction with people to an absolute minimum they dont see any issue with me going snowmobiling for a few days. I wear a mask and carry hand sanitizer with me everywhere I go. I am very self sufficient and if that means eating all my meals in my room, I am ok with that. As I said, I do not plan on steeping foot in any restaurants and I always wear gloves when touching gas pumps.

I booked rooms in Cochrane on the 16th/17th weekend for me and my dad. We are going to keep a pretty low profile and avoid interaction with other people as much as possible. We will bring my portable BBQ and make our own dinner at least 1 night. I will probably throw some lunch stuff in a cooler have sammiches on the trail if restaurants are too busy. We are going to ride. Not hang out in bars or anything like that.

I think we will have a total lockdown from Boxing Day to Jan 11, just like Quebec. My buddy is the CEO of our local Hospital Board and he said there is a big push from the Hospitals to close up the Province for 2 weeks over the holidays. The Premiers office has already announced a press conference for Monday at 1pm. I am ok with this. My wife and daughter are RNs and they say that we are in big trouble if we dont get the numbers down asap.

I wouldnt be surprised if the Elders or whoever in Moosonee dont allow any non-residents into town this winter.

It sure brings back fond memories when I think back to the late 90s and how the NAI was THE PLACE to stay in Cochrane. Good little bar/restaurant, heated sled storage and of course, the porn channel.
I used to stay at The Chimo as a back up when the NAI was full. It had a rockin bar and a decent restaurant going on for a few years as well. I think the Chimo is mostly booked with construction crews these days.
The Westway seems to be the safest place to stay these days. The rooms are clean and the owners are very friendly folks. Brian has gone to the beer store for us on a few occasions when we were running late. Great people.

Really nice hotel. Not inexpensive. I have said it before but it borderlines on being "too nice" for a sled trip.

Its not the RAP area, but if you are comfortable with a 300km day, I would leave from Ville Marie, ride to Amos through Rouyn and ride back the next day but through Malartic. You wont ride the same trail at all. I did it last year and it was 644kms round trip.

Hoping the lakes freeze here in Kawartha lakes and Halliburton. Fingers crossed for a couple of trips to Amos or St Zenon. They may be remote enough COVID wise
FYI. St Zenon is one of the most locked down areas in the province. I love that area, but no way would I go there this season.

My plan is to have no plan... maintain a heightened sense of available snowmobiling opportunities situational awareness and exploit opportunities as they occur.
Which, when you think about it, is a plan.
Thats my plan. I am a Realtor and its fairly easy for me to sneak away for a few days and my dad is 100% retired so I can see the 2 of us making decisions to go sledding with 48hrs notice.

Great info there.

Yes sir. I like the build quality of the trailer itself but the material that they use for the shell is beyond disappointing. So much I am regretting buying it altogether. Mine is charcoal grey and the panel colour doesnt match and the panels are wavier than the ocean. My NEO trailer was not this wavy by any stretch.

I leave from Ville Marie. You can park at the Loblaws at the edge of town but I generally just book a room at the Motel Louise and leave my keys with them so they can move my truck to plow snow.

Well. I am kind of bummed out. I did NOT buy a Quebec permit this year. Too much uncertainty in Quebec this winter and I could tell my dad wasnt keen on dropping $340 on a permit. I will still probably end up buying a weekend pass at some point but my "big" trip this year will be in Ontario. My dad wants to do the Northern Loop in Ontario this year. It will be a great ride but I will miss the little relais along the trail in Quebec this winter.

Rabaska is a great spot. The food is really good there as well.
I wouldnt go there right now based on the COVID restrictions. No dine in eating or anything in that area right now. It is locked down hard with no end in sight. The only convenient place to ride in Quebec right now will be in the Rouyn/Amos area.

Heard from one of my co-workers in QC today that there is talks of shutting down the province, other than "essential" stuff, starting around Dec 18 for 2 or 3 weeks to try and get the C19 numbers down.....nothing 100% confirmed yet though, but I imagine it will be confirmed very soon.
I bet we have the same thing happen in Ontario.

I am still on the fence this year. I will have to make up my mind tomorrow I guess.

I have a new Pace trailer coming. The dealer cannot get enough trailers this year. He had 7 come in 2weeks ago and all were gone in a week. New orders are 5 months out.
I guarantee there will be some deals on lightly used ones in a year.

My 2019 F150 with a 2.7 Eco Boom gives 18L/100km towing my Clamshell Triton at 115km/h on the 400N. Its normally around 11-12 empty. I just bought a TC167 and am curious to see what/if there is any difference?

Triton isn't shipping trailers touting a shortage from their aluminum supplier and covid just closed down the axle factory. The Neo models i've seen in circulation look pretty close, maybe even better with the marine grade floor, etc..
I am not surprised to hear this. My TC167 just showed up at the dealer last week. It was supposed to be here in October.

Did you nail your lattice to floor?
Yes. I used my dads brad nailer to secure it.

That area is in the lowest restriction region in Quebec right now so as long as things dont get worse, it should be ok. I wouldnt be real keen to go the Mont Laurier right now though.

I will be the first to admit, that if we didnt have a water access only cottage I would be hunkering down there for the next 2 weeks as well.
