We have spent the last few hours changing our plans around. Kapuskasing bound now.
Why Kap over Cochrane? Weather not similar and a little farther drive?
fingers are crossed that I can get up north this weekend also.......

Seen you at cowbell, great trail conditions eh,roads not so much
Yep - probably could have ridden dirt bikes for 3-5 km today

Well not for us today! (My 13 yr old and I)
left timmys kincardine at 10am (had wrap and coffee on sled), didn’t want to head out too early as trails would be rock solid.
sledded over to Ayton for a early small lunch with some friends at Trixies and then for a small ride together.
down to listowel and filled up at UPI at 180km.
west to mitchel then up to blyth for a bite to eat at cowbell, now that restaurant has reopened. Had to wait 15 min for a table - but nice to sit down.
suited back up and home via wingham.
On the couch with a beer in hand at 6:45pm.
both our right thumbs are hurting it seems tonight.
359,7km for the day . Biggest run we had all season from our backyard.
850 was on fumes when got home. 900 ACE had 2 bars left.
road crossings, road running, and wooded trails were SHOT.

And grey Bruce going Green on Monday ......

Wow. What a beauty of a day.
Trailered to Mt forest meet up with some old friends.
left 9:00am, lunch in Blyth on bench outside of Timmys.
Only really bad trails were Blyth/Seaforth - but see they are red on ITG.
269 km for the day.
Had not ridden Mitchel / Listowel / B111 for a couple of years - forgot how open and fast the fields were.
bush and road running are taking a beating.wonderful last day in D9 for me I suspect .

@ecarnellare things that tough out your area? Was thinking of going to that area and up to Wiarton/Owen Sound. Over the wknd
For me, need to ditch bang into town and get to trails and would be some road running, and suspect yellow trails really means “yellow” trails as temps have compacted snow really well and none of the ground is really frozen - hence why looking to go south to green trails.
I road owen sound area last weekend - and west side was the worse (B trial) of the entire day, but looks like they still have some green trials, so can’t be that bad????
sorry not much help.

Thinking of getting out for one more D9 ride tomorrow (Friday)
trailering to mt forest and riding rest of “green” trails on the ITG west/south.
anyone ridden them in last 24 hrs?
hoping not much road running.

Well another amazing day riding with my son from our backyard.
Trails in am we’re great - got loose around Owen sound coming in from the west side. Twisty and lots of traffic.
Road running not looking good in some spots(most gravel/ pavement I’ve run this season).
Was nice for first time to head to Montana’s in Owen sound and eat out, nice way to break up the day instead of solid 6-7 hours in sled with helmets on.
fresh snow last night and warmer temps really beat things up after lunch.rail trail down to chatsworth wasn't great.
Alot of groups with 2nd/3rd rider NOT on their side of the trail....
seemed like every 20+ year old sled was out on the trail today - hanging on for dear life hitting the bumps!
and my new belt held together for the 318.2km today!

Sooooo happy my 13 son is turning into a sled head with me. Considering this is his real first year on the trails, I’m soooo impressed on how he handles himself and the sleds (900 Ace and 850).
Warming up mom that new sleds may be coming next year (Polaris I think)....
At 12 he was trail riding a 250EXC and think that has matured him a lot to respect the power, attitude and all!

Can i aso what make of belt your running on the 850?.
original OEM “571” ran 4700km
next OEM “571” ran 1300km - did not do an easy break in....
last (today’s) belt, Dayco XTX5034 lasted approx 400km. Broken in easy, <100km/hr , no wide open throttle at all for first 80km.After that, “May” have been run hard....
ordered an RPX5034 last Friday, but don’t think it will arrive anytime soon, so will pick up an XTX5034 to keep me going. -

i pick them up cause i don't want it getting into the equipment.
Same with beers cans we find on the trail... it’s too bad people don’t take them out with them or have garbage barrels near by.
This year seems to be worse than ever, with restaurants closed I suspect and people choosing to have a beer on side of trail instead.

think I may just relax and have a hot tub and beers with the wife!
hopefully we get some more snow and will be out later this week for sure!

Well broke trail 35 km this am - absolutely gorgeous !!!!
Probably nicest ride had all year, from my own backyard ! (We are about 3,000km for the season thus far)
35 km in - another belt blew ....
spare I had left I wouldn’t have trusted very far so had to cut day very very short to my sons dis liking.

Nice looking trails and it sounds like you guys had a nice ride together. Trails are very good in the south this year! Even if Parry Sound district was open, I’m not sure I would even bother travelling. Sooo good down in the south this year!
Absolutely - don’t think I’ll be trailering until road running becomes a problem around here.

How did you deal w/ the Tims? You didn't go thru the drive thru did you> When I came back on the E208 after my ride w/ @Bigfish last week, I road a bit further west to the end of the trail. That gets you about 5 minutes walking from a Tim's & Wendy's. I thought OK, but how do I grab something if I'm not in a car? I don't know if they are doing take out in Ptbo or what the set up is.
I have done the drive thru thing a few times over the past year.
Just walk in , order with helmets on.
pick up from counter and drink / eat at the sleds parked in lot.
The Bv2s are great for this to drink / eat with helmets still on/warm!
no in store dinning , but can still order in the restaurant for take out.

What another beautiful ride from the house with my 13 year old.
ditch banged into kincardine tims for a coffee and hot chocolate - on the trails 8:45 ish. Back home 3:30pm.
301 km for the day.some of the nicest trails I’ve ridden all year.
went through Lucknow, fill up in Blyth, to wingham to pick up some parts, up to chesley to pick up some chainsaw chains and fill up, looped through paisley then hydroline back to tivterton / kincardine.
I had forgotten about how fast the trails were from blyth to wingham - wonderful farm land and beautifully groomed.saw two groomer and two OPP suvs.... just looking for permits
ps time for some new runners....

If hotels aren’t opening on feb 16th in NB area , with all the nice snow around the Southern Ontario - is would think they’d open them up, as would only be “local” riding. Would be very little people “trailering to the area”.
if hotels ARE opened, then he could easily use the stick that people would still be coming to area an infect us all.....

Rotax 1630 Ace super charged watercraft mill detuned from 230 - 300hp to 180 -200hp ?
https://www.rotax.com/en/products/rotax-powertrains/details/rotax-1630-ace.html
That’s a big engine (88kg) - wonder how they would fit it into existing chassis.
I have that in my sea doo and a wonder mill.

it was pretty bad and at road crossings had to really take a double and triple look there are times that peoples daytime running lights dont work and they dont put on their headlights was real concerned yesterday but was not an issue I guess I am just saying this cause you have your boy with you and every bite of knowledge is so important for the young ones
Yep - agreed. Hence why he also wears a tekvest and a bright green overcoat / frog togg to be easily seen on the trail .(and great for warmth/extra wind breaker).
im not worried as much as him driving on the trail as the other idiot coming the other direction.
I wear one too - and think I may look like a cop sometimes when people see me on the trail .......
