So he was able to put another dash on the chalk board beside his sled manufacture at the grill....lol

The Grill was nice enough to put my buddies clothes in their dryer for him & we bought him some spare clothes at Robinson's.

Lol, he absolutely got add himself to the chalkboard - I believe we have a photo of that somewhere.

Our cottage was right around the corner - everything was close by.

Here is my on my Pro X 600 and my buddy Trev waaaaay back running dorset.

    Top quality cameras back then.

  2. Ran Dorset way too many times to count and thankfully never went down.

That said, running it one evening, my buddy was behind me as well - I get to the other end, turn, see a pile of steam and him splashing his arms.

Raced back, parked on shore - he was coming out - there was already a guy there with a rope looking to fish his sled out ( previously sunk ), my buddy turns to him and says can I borrow it, guy says sure, my friend takes the rope, swims back out, down, ties on his sled, we pulled it out - he went to the Fiery grill to warm up- our other friends went back, got truck/trailer, change of clothes, I dragged his sled off the shore, into the trailer.

    It was an event.

Not sure I skipped again after that.

Very promising....especially with the rink closures.....

The little warm up seems to be a today/tomorrow thing, than back into normal stuff - good to see and hope it sticks around!

Yup, we got 3 days out of it until the little thaw.

Need to get through the next 24-48 hours and should be good.

Heading off to the rink for 2 - 2 hour skates today - that will be it for a long time.

    Yeah little bit. :)

Probably only put 2 tanks of has through it. Still have an et340 at my dads if he decides to take an interest in a few years. He wants an atv so that'll come next spring or summer.

 - as long as the kid is happy, all that matters.

We ordered a "low" windshield for my son's Indy Lite - he doesn't like the "grandpa" shield on it.

He is more and more like me all the time - which is SCARY !

Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, stay safe.

Plus 5 forecasted for Christmas eve.....that you know will end up closer to 10 in a few days.....:banghead:

But then back to seasonal for a bit....for now.

My rink made 4-5" of ice in 2 days, you never know.

Yep sold my sled and the kids sled. Kept the 570 fanner for ice fishing. Sold the cabin too. Bought a 28ft bunkhouse to have near water this coming camping season and bought a new fish trap and the a new fishing graph. Got tired of spending a fortune to chase snow and got addicted to fishing.

Bet you might have made a few bucks on the kids sled :)

Cheers man, all the best, come back though - I will be back full-time in 5 years once his hockey career is over lol

she's even dumber than I thought... she says he's doing everything wrong but doesn't come up with any alternatives

My money says he's at home collecting the federal money...

The mutated virus was identified in the UK and they are locked down... they aren't leaving the country since they are banned from entering other countries... much like Americans are unwelcome in other countries.

Hey, if you want to believe this "mutated" virus is isolated in the UK, it's all good - my belief is by the time this was discovered, based on their media splashing of how much faster this one spreads, my money is on that it was and is everywhere else long before they "discovered" it,  people have been going in and out of every country all over the world for a long long time.

It's nothing new and nothing more than to "scare" people and keep them down, esp. during holiday season.

    Move on!

  8. There is no "new" strain, let's face it, what's new is it's identification - by the time that has happened, it's been around for quite some time and I guarantee you this "new" strain is all over the world already.

Really tired of all this non-sense and i hope business owners stand up and just open up, people stop listening and decide to start living their lives again.

My bet is it will be extended. Spring lockdown didn't get rid of it, this one will be no different, as it sounds like the plan is the same. On top of that, the new strain is apparently more easily spread.

As long as  LCBO and the beer store are essential, I guess I will be fine, or broke.

Yup, they have the 28 days to say "gotcha" - then keep you there for an eternity - the spring was never ending - this will be too, the vaccine falacy is just that, we have 14+ million identified people in this province - this is never going away - ever, "new strain" - new fear mongering. Every virus has new strains, this is nothing new in the world.

Just announced province wide shut down Dec 26 to Jan 23.

North is not until the 23rd, they are 14 days.

I went by an awful lot of sled trails today in Southern Ontario - the lockdown will have NO effect on those - they're a frickin complete mud pile and nowhere near ready to ride on a snowmachine.

Yes, but I won't hesitate to ride on roads, if they're well covered in ice and snow. Not everyone is interested in that.

Me too, I will do that all day if I have to - when we get good early dumps of snow - I try to head out and beat the plows if I can.

Here is my son with me in December of 2016 - lots of snow cover on this municipally maintained road. :)

You need to broaden your horizons......the place that Blake rode is only about 45 minutes north of you!

Have actually done that a bunch of times - we even stopped in South River on our way home from New Liskeard one year, un-loaded at the rink and rode all afternoon!

No issues going anywhere - it's the TIME I don't have - I need convenience at the moment :)

I commend the volunteer(s) taking on this issue on behalf of organized snowmobiling.

Most do not understand the work that goes into advacting on our behalf every single year. Something new comes up it seems yearly.

Please keep up the good fight, and thank you for bringing this to our attention Fish!

    I second this.

Due East might be consistently better with less traffic and avoiding minden might be a good idea too.....otherwise, head to Dorset, TP trails or ASC trails are usually great,  wolf loop is nice, Kearney for lunch or to Baysville.
B trail up to Whitney or Barry’s bay is a nice ride too,  as long as B trail is groomed....

Lots of restaurants all over the place.

    I second this here.

I remember some of the stats showed that the segment of snowmobiling that was actually growing and faster than any other was new women riders. I've walked off into the trees to do business but I know my wife wouldn't.

We need youth, not more women! :)

I get readings on the display of the truck

Its possible mine might show it, have never looked to be honest - but goes back to I don't care either, is what it is.

  17. I have never calculated mileage on anything I put fuel in - ever. lol, I put gas in, when the needle is close to E - I fill up and keep going.

I could not tell what kind of mileage I get on anything lol

but, 10-20 dripping wet balaclavas, helmets, and gloves drying, around a heating apparatus, with fan, ventilation blowing it around doesnt concern anyone? does anyone see the flaw in this thinking? especially the "follow the science" people, govt entities that WILL BE MAKING CHANGES TO HOW WE MOVE FORWARD, etc...?

it is so weird to see people swing so far, from one side to the other with this. Ski

On a personal level, I have zero concern about any of it, but I can recognize there will be others who do, and rightly so.

I would be shocked if anyone will be allowed to put anything on a heater.

If I were the rider, I'd pack an extra balaclava or two, gloves if you think you need to.

Enter rest. - leave you're helmet in a designated area and get on with it.

I doubt the government is going to amend their indoor eating requirements to specifically "meet those who serve sledders" - so be smart, make choices that YOU are comfortable with and carry on.
