I like the idea of the "closed" sign - so at least it's there - in your face - and you can "think about it".
That said, some would blindly ignore it anyway.
Using the ITG as the tool - I get it from the one side perspective -that's our system - and that's how we run it - it's one thing - simple and easy - and real time.
On the other end - I'm fairly young - but not a gadget or tech person - I have never downloaded any app and it's a tool I simply will not use, so hopefully someone I would be riding with does, otherwise it's an unknown to me and not something I will bother to get familiar with.

I wonder if it was an inside job. That be pretty risky going in there with all surveillance they have. That be last place I would want to go if I was a thief, unless someone from inside helped them pull it off, for cash payment 🤣.
Sorry for your loss and hopefully trailer at least turns up some where in Ontario.Thieves do not and are not concerned about surveillance 99% of the time.

My dealer said that he thinks he can come up with a replacement sled for me. It might not be an 850 XRS but there are more than a few guys bailing on their spring orders now. The problem is the trailer. He said absolutely zero chance of him replacing the trailer this season.
It's January 10th, get what you want - don't take something lesser just to "ride" - you'll never be happy

Can't fix stupid, but we're getting to the point where snow fencing and/or some form of a "block" need to be at easy trail access locations until they are open.
It's a late start - people are "itching" etc.
No win - only a lose for everyone

just got the call, delivery postponed again, now hoping for end of January 😟
Unfortunate news.......
Hopefully provincially, riding conditions are in tip top form when it does arrive and away you go.

January 6th and we're "hoping" places like Sudbury have enough snow to start packing.
Man it's a tough start

Isn't that the MXZ Sport (600EFI) at $10K?
sure, so 1 sled in an entire line-up.
What I'm saying is, I would like to see manu's go back to more basic starting line-up sleds.
I would rather an "option" to add on all the standard things now - that are costly - that I do not want and/or have any use for.
I still ride an 800 2 stroke w/o electric start...
Has hand warmers and has been reliable - good enough for me

Sorry, I misread the original "question"
Thoughts - reality is - more "tech" and higher prices.
I know I am in the minority here, but I would prefer to see more stripped down back to basics sleds at more reasonable pricing.
I personally don't care to have "tech" gadgets on my sled.
I want it to ride well, run when it needs to run, and have heated grips.
That's it for me

Just eat a good breakfast and supper, and ride. Take out. It is what it is. Clocks ticking on the season....
Sure is.
Now that hockey is shut down - might have time for riding this winter.
Just need some snow!

Not sure how the new rules affect your trips - other than in Quebec - you better be off the trails by 10....,lol, and in Ontario - you can only ride then sit in your room all night.
Such BS - but good for you guys going through with it.

I don’t think we are winning.
This scares me. So if someone goes around the corner and there is a walker with a dog and someone coming other way. It could be a disaster if ofsc not going to cover it. There are lots of multi use trails near towns. If pedestrians realize they aren’t covered they might lobby to get snowmobiles banned. I can see this becoming a topic in many council meetings across the province.Pedestrians are covered for AB and BI if they are struck by a sled - regardless of the OFSC.
People need to be better educated on insurance and our legal system

Muskoka in my opinion are behind where they normally would be.
Cold is on the way - but no real significant cold before.

I had a 2011 Dakota with a 4.7V8 and I loved that truck. It was the perfect size for my uses. I wish Dodge/Ram would bring it back.
I had an 04 and an 09 and loved both of those trucks.
Shame Dodge is only making transport trucks these days

As we sit and await sleds and snow, what's everyone's thoughts on some of these guys asking prices for sleds?. Seriously, who's that desperate that you would actually pay theses crazy prices. Hard to believe someone would actually pay this. Thoughts?.

I don't know who would - but if it continues, the sport will kill itself with this.
Marginal weather and a handful of people willing to spend/part with that kind of money for a "toy" are few and far between.
When BRP launched the Sparx - it saved the PWC market and brought in a tonne of new people.
It might be time for the sled guys to start looking in that direction too

I’m not sure why they sold - maybe at it long enough and time to hang up the reins…. I think it was around 15 years of ownership.
I believe it was for sale for about a year before local cottage owners bought it….. I thought I remember seeing the listing a little while ago prior to them announcing the sale, might be wrong.
Property values at an all time high
No to limited inventory to sell
Gas makes 0
Lockdowns - Covid restrictions - etc. etc. etc.
Get out while you can.
Good business decision

Sounds awfully fun.
Have only been to Moosonee in the summer time.
Ridden Cochrane more times than I can count.
Don't have the sled for this type of trip though
