Man, lots of complaining about pricing of sleds ( myself included ) - yet we are expecting these ridiculous annual advancements on machines used 2-3 months out of the year.
We are our own worst enemies as usual.

Liked the release - sometimes you don't need to refine what's already as close to perfect as you can get.
Great job Polaris.

Woa cowboy! Fair enough but my opinion is that its still too little to late. There's no differentiation here, unless you consider getting less for your $ as a differentiation.
I guess it also depends on what you think you need and what is the latest and greatest and what you're willing to pay for.
Sleds will never come back down to the cost I think I want to pay - and personally I don't see ENOUGH changes/refinement to warrant the cost difference between what I have and what is out there.

Good plan. I think there's deals coming this spring / summer in the slightly used market. With another round of price increases have to wonder of snow check will sell out this year like it has in the past.
I bet they will sell out.
Seems sledder populace are loaded and the manu's know it!

I gotta say firstly, I think cat has done a pretty good job on their new catalyst sled lineup, but the pricing is a bit nuts imo. Even on the old platform they went up quite a bit. Pricing is out on the website now for all to see. Cats are usually a bit cheaper than Yamahas, so this is a good indicator for what the pricing will be like on the new Yamahas.
just some quick pricing….
$27,500 +++ for a ZR9000$20,600 +++ for a ZR7000
$17,250 +++ for new ZR600 catalyst base model
$19,125 +++ for new ZR600 catalyst w/atac
$20,125 +++ for new ZR600 R-XC
As much as I think it will be a great sled, too much money just to get the wife out.
Now I’m back to Polaris, we’ll see what they have to offer on Monday for the 600 class.
worst case scenario…I may have to lower my standards and get a renegade sport hahahaha! Sorry to all you doo owners.
I actually hear it’s a pretty good economy sled, just that the suspension sucks. The price of the renegade sport 600 is more realistic to get my wife out, but still afraid of the “get what you pay for” so to speak.
I know prices have increased all across the economy, but I’m just having a hard time wrapping my head around $20k plus for a sled these days. And to to think the turbo sleds are $30k???
Just because the money is there, doesn’t mean people are going to spend it.
I'm not sure I will ever buy a new sled again.
The one I am on now is the first used sled I ever bought.
Had 310 miles on it - paid $9,000.00 with 2 more years of warranty left, 10 years later - still going strong!

This is kind of funny, and this is not because I now ride a DOO - but this year the number of DOO's I see on the snow is quite high compared to others.
On the QC ride we did, CAT/YAMI was second for sire (all 4-strokes) and POO was third....but a far cry from the number of DOO's we seen.
Here in our back yard, POO and CAT are closer but DOO is still far more popular to see.
Chalk it up to coincidence or timing, not sure, just what I noticed.
Perhaps delivery issues the last couple years is the reason for this & the lopsided numbers, it did seem DOO did a better job of delivering new iron, not perfect I know, just higher percentage.
POO does have an awesome looking sled though, love the options the rider has to pick from too.....and sounds like it might be the best trail sled too on the snow.
Take ride in Minnesota state, or almost any state, and count the Poo and Cats vs Doo's lol.
The best thing Doo EVER did to grab market share was bring in the ride free for a year plan - they were first, got their teeth in and have never looked back - that coupled with good product of course.
Brilliant really.

I think it's a great time to be a Polaris person.

We saw a family today with a younger boy riding a POO like your sons - first person I thought of was you & wondered for a second if it was you, but the dad was on a newer POO.......than wife and daughter (I assumed) were trailing behind on a 2-up machine.
Great to see all out on Family day weekend!!
Ya, no newer Poo here for this guy.
Antiquated old Cat - kids get all the new stuff

I didn't even set up our rink this year..
Good decision!
I still did the rink ,still got passes for the sleds, still got use each of them on an extremely limited basis.
All of it is a complete and utter waste of time and money - but getting those 2 rides and 3 skates - clears the mind a bit and makes it worth it.
Easy come easy go, can't take it with ya as they say

I have done the math on my rink for this year:
New liner:
2 Water truck loads of Water
1 broken stick
3 days of use
= $445.00 per skate lol
Ready to put this winter behind and move onto to the nicer weather.
I'm a winter guy, but if it's not going to be winter, then take the November all winter and shove it.

Tomorrow will wreak havoc on what little is left in most of the province.
I tip my hat to these volunteers.

LOL, 8 sleds - exactly my point above!
Looking at your pictures, snow is thin, but coverage is there.
I don't care if they're thin as long as I can get some lube to keep from overheating.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the traffic this weekend around there was on the light side with the superbowl and the above normal temps…..and with minimal road runs between Baysville and Dorset, the bush should help keeping things decent.
I haven’t been there due to other commitments with the kids, but hoping to get up in the near future and things this week see more snow vs rain.
Wednesday looks not good.
We have saturday off again - hoping to ride - but it isn't looking to good at this point.

I would be very careful, worst year for ice I have seen. I am sure some areas are good to go, but nothing is even close to consistent.- 1
Has anyone heard about trail grooming in Muskoka?
