    Bad experience on a claim?
Some people have a great experience with td and others it’s a cluster cluck. I personally like having a broker since he get best payout and service possible. Td woukdnt touch my four wheeler because it’s used commercial on my farm. Go figure. I have everything with a broker now except snowmobile. Seems most companies don’t want sleds is half problem.

Brokers don’t dictate payouts, your policy and the Insurance Act do.

I’m with Intact for my home/auto/camper/SxS. Intact is way lower for everything but sleds. Sleds are with TD.
Not sure why Intact can’t come close to TD as they underwrite all the FMCQ sled insurance.

    2 totally different insurance products.

  3. If you're full coverage on that sled - it's reasonable.

Without knowing full details - hard to compare.

I've been with TD over 10 years.

Premium for coverage provided is better than anywhere else I have shopped.

No claims - so no personal experience on that end - but it's an OAP - process is simple and I am not concerned about it as I know how to handle a claim :)

So the OFSC had a player that was used but were not meeting a new criteria.
I assume discussions were had to see if that player could accommodate?

If criteria  could not be met and there are other possible players, it would seem prudent to give those other players a chance to step up to the plate before this decision was made.

I assume current gps can still be used to track your trail, route taken , etc…., but would need to be used in conjunction with the trail map app with most current trail route, status, etc …not ideal.

Doesn’t appear to be the most well thought out decision, perhaps there is more to the situation that helps make more sense of it or why notice of this was not communicated.

Not if the agreement with the current provider was ending and no longer met their needs, regardless of whether or not a new player was procured.

if the existing doesn’t do it, it’s over.

I am sure some might think that, but IMO, I do not think so.

Cat had the chassis - Yamaha did not

Cat had the 2-stroke offerings - Yamaha did not

Cat even switched from Suz to their own 2-strokes over that time frame and AFAIK, the Cat 2-strokes worked very well

Cat had the 4-stroke offerings - Yamaha did too, apparently a better one, but from all that I have heard, Cats 4-stroke were solid motors too though

Then there was the Yamaha Ski's, that most did not like.

The Yamaha clutching, I have no idea if it was good or worst than Cat's, but did the T-cat not out run the Yamaha in the same chassis, which I would suggest is a clutch thing (I am not sure if that is accurate or not).

They each had different gauges, that I think both were bad.

I think the Yammi graphics were better.

Did Yammi come into the production plant and help Cat with improving the builds over the years, - I have no idea personally, maybe they helped with that :wtf:

The Procross chassis improved each and every year, no matter what people said about how old it was, it was always being improved upon.

Curious to know how or why you think the other way, the above are just my thoughts.

I am just thinking it's entirely possible.

we have no idea what Cat's true financial standing was

Its great they had all that stuff - but it doesn't matter if their sales aren't very good

Yamaha could have come to them and said - "hey, we have some good stuff too - we're going to bow out in a few - but for now -we have these contracts - we have this/that - lets' partner up - we'll share some stuff - you'll make a few more sales - we'll full fill what we need to then exit stage left"

I just don't see Yamaha taking on the partnership to try and stay relevant in the game.

They are a very smart and well run company - who make excellent products in a lot of sectors

I just deep down think they are smart enough to realize the sled market is not a money maker - we'll gracefully exit - rather than just shut everything down and go home.

LOL - ya, that was the mindset no doubt, but as mentioned before, it also gave Yammi a life line, however when was the big question answered as to when the end would happen, that was likely not solidified until maybe 2 to 3 years ago....

Are we sure it wasn’t Yammi giving Cat a lifeline? yammi knowing full well they were exiting.

I would think they have too and likely already engineered when they designed the new chassis, I cannot see how Cat did not know Yami was exiting the market, decision like that was not made on a whim.

As for what is coming by others, I guess one of the great side affects of having a market with multiple manufactures, ideally all that are healthy - what is next......

I personally do not really care, but seeing Cat appear to be stepping up, is good for the overall sport.

    Agreed!

Go back to polaris. The 850 motor is strong and like most 800 two strokes. Good to 8000km.

100% will be back to Polaris - my Cat has been fantastic and no complaints - but for sure going back.

LOL, that is about what I dealt with - my cat cost me $3,300.00 for the 9 years I owned/rode it!

Should have sold/traded 3 years ago - just could not justify it - still can't :)

2 more years and then I'm onto a new unit.

    Soon as hockey is ova!

Really sad Yamaha was leader in 80’s before Polaris took over in 90’s then skidoo in 2000’s.
phazers, exciters we’re every where. Oh those vmax’s were pretty cool too.

Yamaha was only manufacturer that could make a reliable tripple cylinder two stroke too.

The 540 V-max with the flip up headlight……

The Ontario permit is a deal IMO.    Our trails are not as good as Quebecs are but the $220 could easily be $300 and I wouldnt complain.

The thought of buying both Ontario and Quebec permits this year x 2 sleds is starting to hit my tipping point though.   $1400 in permits is a big pill to swallow.

I disagree, but would say that Quebec generally has better weather for their trails.

If we had the weather they did - I would see very little reason to go there vs. the varying terrain Ontario has to offer.

Typically around $40 yes.  Buy the permit with insurance.  Then go on the insurers website and claim your refunds.  Cheque will arrive in a months time.  You get it all back this way.  If you select no insurance when buying they charge an admin fee of like $20.  So you lose half the refund.

Does your liability from your OAP not extend to Quebec?
